Celebrating my 60th with the family. Read quite a few good reviews and booked this for my 60th. Wish I had waited a week or two and would have seen recent reviews which are poor. My issues are as follows:-
We arrived at 7 for a meal booked in advance for that time. We waited at the bar but none of the staff even acknowledged us, let alone offered to serve us, for 5 minutes. Eventually, someone came through from the restaurant area and asked if we were ok. This seemed like a silly question, as we were standing at the bar being ignored, still with our coats on! I said no, we weren't ok, that we had booked a table and that we had been waiting for ages. Her abrupt reply was that we were in the wrong place and should have gone to the restaurant area behind the bar. I pointed out that there was no sign saying that and she said that that wasn't necessary! It's my experience that restaurants with bars generally expect new arrivals to either go to the bar or wait near the entrance to be greeted and seated. As we had come in by the Church Street entrance, we had done both, as no alternative was visible from there. How were we supposed to know that they expected us to wait somewhere else? We were so shocked by the poor service and rude response from the only member of staff who even acknowledged our presence that we just walked out. So, The Cornerhouse, you may think that you had a 'no show' at 7 last night, but you didn't. Your guests came on time but were repelled...

We had drinks orders on arrival and as someone who doesn’t drink alcohol, I opted for an iced coffee. The bottomless brunch consisted of a warm croissant and then the brunch meal that we pick from the menu, along with unlimited drinks for two hours. The price point for non alcoholic brunch is £20 and although the meal was gorgeous it would have been cheaper for me to just purchase the meal and one or two non alcoholic drinks. The iced latte was nice and I tried the other two mocktails which both came presented in a nice glass but seemed to be a flavoured fizzy drink with some fruit and ice, they were both the same colour (clear) and although they were nice it didn’t feel like a true mocktail. If they offered mocktail versions of one or two of the cocktails they offer it would have enriched my experience more. Overall though the food was gorgeous and the staff were incredible absolutely fantastic service and can tell how hard they work, was a great atmosphere and lovely day I’d have just liked a little more value for money with the non alcoholic version of...
