Visited here to celebrate a birthday and we all had the bottomless brunch, the eggs royale I chose were absolutely gorgeous and everyone else enjoyed their full English breakfast. We had drinks orders on arrival and as someone who doesn’t drink alcohol, I opted for an iced coffee. The bottomless brunch consisted of a warm croissant and then the brunch meal that we pick from the menu, along with unlimited drinks for two hours. The price point for non alcoholic brunch is £20 and although the meal was gorgeous it would have been cheaper for me to just purchase the meal and one or two non alcoholic drinks. The iced latte was nice and I tried the other two mocktails which both came presented in a nice glass but seemed to be a flavoured fizzy drink with some fruit and ice, they were both the same colour (clear) and although they were nice it didn’t feel like a true mocktail. If they offered mocktail versions of one or two of the cocktails they offer it would have enriched my experience more. Overall though the food was gorgeous and the staff were incredible absolutely fantastic service and can tell how hard they work, was a great atmosphere and lovely day I’d have just liked a little more value for money with the non alcoholic version of bottomless brunch :)

Went in during their happy hour with price of a fillet steak reduced from £28 to £18 . Read revues of place which seemed quite positive . See picture of the *fillet steak* i got served and no i hadn't eaten any of it before i took the picture. I can understand that a restaurant might reduce the size of its steaks during happy hour but to serve a customer that as a fillet steak is embarrassing . No self respecting chef would put that out as a fillet . The rest of the food was ok nothing special but they also got an ordered item wrong and served a salmon fillet instead of the ordered linguini. Didn't bother complaining at the time as was out on a family evening out and didn't want to spoil it but certainly won't be going back to Cornerhouse Lancaster

Lots of menu choices and good value for money. My beef dinner was lovely. Mum said her chicken was over cooked and tough but she enjoyed the rest of it. We had to ask 3 times for extra gravy for our food so we had nearly finished by the time it arrived. My daughters both had pizza and salt and pepper chips and they said it was lovely. We went for Mothers Day meal which was very noisy and had lots of children running about in the other room with the seating booths. We enjoyed lots of cocktails on the happy hour menu which were great. I would recommend a stronger hand dryer in the ladies toilet or another way to dry your hands as the one there is pathetic and doesn't dry your hands.

Celebrating my 60th with the family. Read quite a few good reviews and booked this for my 60th. Wish I had waited a week or two and would have seen recent reviews which are poor. My issues are as follows:-

  1. I ordered Steak and Black pudding pie, when it arrived and I lifted the pastry there was no Black pudding in sight. The waitress appeared and when I questioned this she went to the kitchen and brought some to the table. 2). My wife and son in law ordered Steak with pepper sauce, when it arrived the sauce was already poured over the meal. We have always had the sauce served in a pouring jug. (I questioned this when paying the bill and the waiter said it usually comes in a jug) I think they served one portion of sauce and charged for two!
  2. My daughter ordered Scampi which was over cooked as the batter although not burnt was hard and not crispy.
  3. When I used the upstairs gents toilet, one of the two sinks had no water operating and one of the cubicles had the door handle lying next to the working sink. Out of the two hand dryers again one was broken. My wife said the two hand dryers in the upstairs female toilet were broken and I have since noticed that another customer had complained about this. I was going to complain but the place was getting a bit busy and I did not ant to make a scene, I could not fault any of the waiters/waitresses as they were polite and respectful and the venue had a nice atmosphere but the food was a real disappointment. I only hope the management have time to reply to the other comments and also mine like...

We arrived at 7 for a meal booked in advance for that time. We waited at the bar but none of the staff even acknowledged us, let alone offered to serve us, for 5 minutes. Eventually, someone came through from the restaurant area and asked if we were ok. This seemed like a silly question, as we were standing at the bar being ignored, still with our coats on! I said no, we weren't ok, that we had booked a table and that we had been waiting for ages. Her abrupt reply was that we were in the wrong place and should have gone to the restaurant area behind the bar. I pointed out that there was no sign saying that and she said that that wasn't necessary! It's my experience that restaurants with bars generally expect new arrivals to either go to the bar or wait near the entrance to be greeted and seated. As we had come in by the Church Street entrance, we had done both, as no alternative was visible from there. How were we supposed to know that they expected us to wait somewhere else? We were so shocked by the poor service and rude response from the only member of staff who even acknowledged our presence that we just walked out. So, The Cornerhouse, you may think that you had a 'no show' at 7 last night, but you didn't. Your guests came on time but were repelled...
