Having strolled by CUP + LID numerous times, I've often witnessed its popularity with customers. My lack of a sweet tooth, however, had kept me from visiting. Nevertheless, I was recently compelled to finally enter CUP + LID as I was desperate for a hot yet caffeine-free drink due to the cold weather.

I was warmly welcomed by the young Asian woman at the counter. I took my time to read the extensive menu and I eventually settled on their nutty hot chocolate, with additional whipped cream and mini brownies. Considering the relatively petite cup, the price tag of £5.50 seemed very steep, though the hot chocolate itself was good. I also noticed their menu offered matcha, a personal favourite, sparking the possibility of a return visit to sample their iced matcha.

A massive variety of chocolates from various white, milk all the way to varying percentages of dark chocolate and toppings available to design your own custom chocolate drink which are all available as hot and iced drink. There are also some “pre-designed” drinks for those who want a quick decision or are indecisive! - I went for one of these as they all sounded I had the Tiramisu which was a combination of dark chocolate, coffee topped with tiramisu cream - was absolutely divine! If you like tiramisu then I definitely recommend this one.

Although the shop front itself is really big, has loads of space to stand, there isn’t much seating. The style is very minimal so it feels like more of a “grab and go” vibe.
