It really upsets me to write this review as this was my favourite ever restaurant since 2017. Not just for its ambience, but it's quality and unbeaten prices. Last year my partner and I moved from Leeds to Edinburgh but we used to come to Leeds exclusively for this restaurant and we would never be disappointed. We just visited MyThai on the 5th of August and since we entered the restaurant we realised lots had changed since last time we came probably 4 months ago. Although the looks and decorations looked nice, I was shocked when saw the prices. A massive increase from £8-9 to £12-13, and starters now £6-7. Our usual order would be 2-3 starters and 2 mains plus drinks, but this time for first time we only got mains paying roughly the same price. My usual pad cashew nut was a very small portion in a huge plate and the pork was tough and dry. In the past we used to get one bowl for the stew and one for the rice. I get the current global increase in the cost of living, but if portions were good why reducing them if you are already rising the prices up around 25%. This is completely unacceptable. I hope the owner sees this review and reconsiders their decisions. We don't want a highly decorated plate. We want the good old mythai we fell in love with.

Ambiance: 3/5 The place is pretty vibrant with tropical decor and posters, but honestly, it didn’t feel very “Thailand” to me, it’s more of a general jungle theme cafe. Fun vibe, but not quite what I expected. Food: 3/5 We were a group of eight, so we ordered a bunch of dishes, and everything came out super fast within 15 minutes, which was impressive. I had the khao suey (Chiang Mai noodle soup), and while it tasted good, I can confidently say it wasn’t real khao suey. If you’ve had it in Thailand, you’ll know what I mean. Staff: 4/5 The staff were friendly and accommodating. Even though we didn’t have a reservation, they found us a table, which was great. Reservations: You’ll need to book your table in advance. Prices: £10 to £20 per person. Overall, it’s a nice spot for a quick meal with friends, but if you’re looking for an authentic Thai experience, it might fall a little short.

Truly wonderful food packed with flavours and spice. My family and I were curious because of all the good critics the place has gotten, and all well earned. We love asian restaurants especially the small, local ones, and mildly put we were astonished by the richness of their dishes. At first the music combined with the noise of other customers were a little overwhelming, but we adapted shortly after. We ordered our dinner from a nice lady, and assuming the time it took to prepare the dishes I can tell it was cooked with care. Asian courses are popular among us Europeans and widely known for its ability to make our tastebuds scream with pleasure. Even for Asian standard and my my family high expectations the restaurant blew all our thoughts away, I simply could not eat fast enough. Overall: great place with delicious food and for a nice price

It brings me great sadness to give MyThai anything less than a five star review. Having been a regular frequenter to this branch since 2016, I have always been a massive supporter. The quality, value, and quantity of the food was excellent.

Having visited on Sunday 2nd July I was surprised to see a completely new presentation. For example, the little bouquets of fake flowers surrounding my highly desired dumplings, food stained and smelly; less than desirable. The temperature and taste of my dumplings was horrendous, previously piping hot and filled with delicious filling, now room temperature, bland, and gelatinous.

When the main came, still at the same speed as previously I was surprised to see the same meal I had ordered previously completely changed. I always order the 21 CHIANG MAI KOW SOI, a brick of stale noodles when they used to be covered in loose crispy noodles. Instead of a heap of juicy battered chicken, replaced with chewy slithers of chicken in a greasy batter, and the overall quantity of food had greatly diminished.

When it came time to the bill, I nearly had a heart attack. What once was a delicious and affordable treat, had drastically shot up. As I had been visiting for many years you do see a gradual price increase, and this is to be expected. But from what was previously £9.50 a course a matter of weeks ago, was now £12.00 a portion! A 26% increase overnight and a diminished portion size, you’re paying in the region of 40% more a course than previously stated.

Now having looked at other recent reviews with photos, the presentation appears to be inline with the original presentation and style of food. This makes me think that this much be a recent change. Hopefully the owner reads this review and takes some notice, as for a MyThai loyalist, unless something happens, the other day will be...

As a person who have just moved from South East Asia less than 1yr ago, we are still in a search and exploration for South East Asian/Asian cuisines, to fulfill the desire for mouthwatering Asian foods. We ordered Rayong Beef Noodle Soup, Pad Gra Pow (we ordered the chicken) with jasmine rice, Crispy Chicken with fried rice, Thai iced milk tea, lychee and hot tea. The Rayong Beef Noodle is the winner from what we ordered whilst the Pad Gra Pow and Crispy Chicken were both on the second place. The soup of the beef noodle was so tasty, quite a perfect companion on acold and rainy day. The sliced beef was plenty, just a bit chewy. Pad Gra Pow is ok, just little too sweet impression when you are almost done. Crispy Chicken is ok too, but the sweet chilli sauce tastes so much like a bottled sweet chilli sauce you can get at Sing Kee or else. It cames with fried rice that seemed to be just reheated in a microwave, I can feel some dried and stiff rice. Thai iced milk tea is the true champion actually, we like it so much. The place is nice and clean with some ornaments that brings a little Thai's ambient and the staff was...
