Unfortunately, there are not many local cafés that are easily accessible from Leeds city centre. However this place is definitely amongst the few that were impactful enough to be breathtakingly memorable. The food, deliciously filling! I really appreciate the thick cut of the avocado on toast, making it a great breakfast option for a price point that seemed criminally low. The coffee, a tasteful piece of art! Before drinking, I felt obligated to take a photo in an attempt to capture the local talent behind running this checkpoint hidden in the bustling city centre. The mocha was sweet, frothy and chocolatey yet remained grounded by coffee's bitter nature. Despite this café being relatively hidden, it was easily accessible from the train station with it being within a 2 minute walk from the back entrance/exit on the other side of the canal so there is no excuse to pass by this gem. Finally, the atmosphere! As well as a place to snack, cafés are also a break from the day. Whether you are visiting by yourself or with others, break off from your daily routine and spend a few minutes here. You will...
Read moreOrdered a cappuccino this morning around 8am with chunky toast with peanut butter. The cappuccino was tasty and went down smooth. We go to a few different cafes in Leeds and this was our first experience of this shop, so we are happy with the quality of drink.
I originally ordered a croissant but there weren't any in, which is a bit disappointing first thing on a Monday morning. The choices for spread on the toast were great but, although this isn't a major issue, they did offer chunky peanut butter but didn't have enough for my toast and did the rest of my toast with smooth.
I am just happy to have peanut butter but would suggest that all items are fully or mostly stocked for the start of the week so when customers ask for something or are offered a choice in something that they are then not met with an apology for it having run out, especially as this was at the start of the day and week and not at the...
Read moreCalled 4x to put an order in for work and 3/4 times the phone was put down. On the 4th call a snotty female picked up and when asked why theyâd put the phone down her reply was âyeah weâre really busy, what can we help you withâ. No apology, nothing. If this is how a business has trained its staff to customers who want to actually put money INTO the business then itâs one thatâs set to fail. Iâm all for helping out independent businesses but this is diabolical service. Thereâs a way and a manner in dealing with busy times and putting the phone down and not serving customers is not it. I hope if this is the standard set by staff and owners of Out Of the Woods then it is quickly rectified as I shall not be recommending the cafe to colleagues for the time being if this is the behaviour of its staff. Extremely disappointed.
