We wanted to try Pizza Pilgrims in our venture to London last year but weren't able to, it was worth the wait (food wise) to get to do it in our home town of Leeds. The pizza I tried on my visit was the 'You've got maiala'. A tasty treat with every meat on the menu on board. The N'duja, salsicca and pepperoni each brought their own flavour to the party. Rich peppery flavours, deep meaty and salty sections with an overall kick to push the meal along. The balsamic glaze and red onions offered a sweet touch to the pizza, topping off what was, in my opinion, one of the best pizzas in Leeds. I paired this (mainly the crust) with a garlic and herb dip to complement and finish the meal. My meal all in all (with a coke zero) came to around £18. I did order the most expensive pizza on the menu however! The only let down was the service. I believe a full meal experience completes with not only the food, but the people. We met one super enthusiastic and amazing guy (I can't remember your name but you stood out!) And one lack lustre lass who kind of made us feel like we were an inconvenience more than a customer. The stand out issue with the service was when we declined the optional service charge (because up to press there had been no outstanding element of service) where the person said 'ok' and walked away from us without saying what was happening. We were left waiting around 5 or so minutes while we watched them continue service with no idea what was happening for us. Fortunately that's where the guy mentioned before came to us, remedied the bill and we went on our way.
The guy we spoke to at the end? You were amazing and what we needed. The person who had a mild breakdown at some menus falling on the floor before getting the manager to fix the issue? This might not be the job for you. This experience alone left a really dodgy taste in our mouths that the (honestly) amazing pizza couldn't quite dislodge. That brings my over all review from a 5 to a 4 with a major hit to service. As busy as it was, a true 5 star review should come from all aspects. Though Pizza Pilgrims delivers on dough, it lacks in people, which is a shame considering the prestige and presentation of the...
Read moreAs I was in Leeds from France visiting family and friends I had one mission on my short trip: to try this legendary pizza that my friends wouldn’t stop raving about. And let me tell you—it did not disappoint. In fact, it was hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had (and I live next door to Italy, so that’s saying something).
The base? Crisp, light, and downright dreamy. The toppings? So fresh and flavorful they could double as poetry. We went all out, ordering three different pizzas and a garlic flatbread, and guess what? Not a single slice was left. Now, I’d love to tell you it was all me, but there were four of us sharing (promise I wasn’t just that hungry).
Our server Daniel was a gem—warm, welcoming, and armed with a PhD-level knowledge of the menu. He guided us like a pizza whisperer to the perfect choices, and boy, did he deliver.
And now for the pièce de résistance: the chocolate pizza. Oh. My. Days. Words fail me here. It’s the stuff of dreams, the reason elastic waistbands were invented. If it were up to me, eating this dessert would be a legal requirement before leaving the restaurant.
I know some people throw out five stars like confetti, but I’m not one of them. That said, I honestly couldn’t find a single fault. This is a 5-star experience all the way. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in the UK. Hats off to Pizza Pilgrims—what a fantastic job. Wishing you all the success...
Read morePizza Pilgrims is hands down one of the best places for authentic Neapolitan pizza. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming, with a great vibe perfect for both casual dining and catching up with friends. The staff were friendly, attentive, and passionate about their food, which made the experience even better.
I ordered a classic Margherita, and it was simply outstanding. The dough was light, soft, and perfectly charred, with that signature Neapolitan chewiness. The tomato sauce was rich and tangy, complemented by the fresh basil and creamy mozzarella. Every bite was bursting with flavor. I also tried the Nduja pizza, and the spicy kick from the nduja combined with the melted cheese was absolutely delicious.
To top it off, I had their Nutella pizza ring for dessert, and it was the perfect sweet ending. Warm, gooey, and filled with chocolatey goodness—pure indulgence!
The quality of ingredients and attention to detail in every dish truly set Pizza Pilgrims apart. Whether you’re a pizza lover or just looking for a great meal, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning for another slice (or two!). 5 stars for sure...
