We visited Pranzo as a group for lunch last week with high expectations. unfortunately these expectations were not to be met. The starters took over 70 minutes to arrive with absolutely no apology for the delay from staff, we had to ask more than once where the food was as it was taking so long. When the food did come it was reasonable but very overpriced in my opinion. (£30 for Garlic Bread and a Lasagne) My main issue is the service was so poor. Staff were unattentive and were preoccupied chatting to each other by the bar and didn't seem to know what they were doing. The table next to us left after about 25 minutes as they were sat there and no-one came to speak to them. We probably would have done the same if we hadn't already had drinks. Overall very disappointed and will not be returning.
EDIT Upon reading the response from the Manager of the restaurant I would suggest they get their information right before they reply to reviews.
1 - It was a Friday and we arrived at 11:55 which was before you requested us to arrive. We were the first people in the restaurant and there was no-one else there although people that arrived after us got served before we did. 2 - The starters DID take 70 minutes to arrive 3 - Having arrived at 11:55 I can see on my receipt that we left at 1:45 which is wholly unacceptable for a lunchtime work meal. whether it be 10 or 4 it's too long as you were expecting the group with it being booked days in advance. 4 - I never called anyone 'useless' 5 - I don't think it is a good look having customers walk out, you probably didn't even realise...
Read morePranzo Italian severely fell short of expectations during our recent visit. From the inflexible menu to the subpar food quality, our evening was unfortunately marred by a series of issues.
Firstly, we were incredibly disappointed to discover that the restaurant enforced a mandatory four-course meal. This was particularly inconvenient as my partner is pregnant and experiencing significant food aversions. We were not given the option to order from the à la carte menu, which would have been far more accommodating to her current needs. We can look past this based on the fact we reserved the table for New Year’s Eve and a lot of eateries only offer a set menu for the occasion.
Secondly, the quality of the food was inconsistent. I found a bone in my main course, which is unacceptable and potentially dangerous. Furthermore, the pasta in my partner's dish was undercooked, leaving it hard and unpleasant to eat. This was neither disclosed on the menu nor mentioned by our server when ordering.
Finally, the dessert, a brownie, contained unexpected carrot-like vegetables. This was a significant departure from the traditional brownie experience and was not mentioned on the menu or by the server. This lack of transparency is unacceptable, especially for diners with dietary restrictions or preferences.
Overall, our dining experience at Pranzo Italian was extremely disappointing. The inflexible menu, subpar food quality, and lack of transparency regarding the menu items resulted in a frustrating and unpleasant evening. We would not recommend this restaurant to others and will not...
Read moreI booked this online and told them my mum was gluten free, told them this again before we ordered. They then brought out a starter that she hadn't ordered and wasn't gluten free, thankfully she didn't eat any of it. Then the mains came and we were assured by the manager,Alessandro, I think, that everything was gluten free he even went further to say that the cauliflower gratin that I had ordered as a side was gluten free also. 5 minutes later he came rushing across to tell her that it wasn't gluten free, thankfully again she hadn't eaten any. I was then asked how I was enjoying my meal, I said my seabass is really overcooked, I was then asked by Alessandro did I think it was really overcooked, seeing as he had served it to me, where I picked up the fish and hammered the plate with it several times, he said you're not paying for that, but not until we got home did I realise they had charged me 10% service charge and we we arrived they asked if we would like some water for the table, I said yes, not knowing they had charged us £2.50 a glass for that. So I may not have paid for the fish but did in other hidden ways. I work in Horsforth, I will not be going there again, and I will not recommend it again to anyone. Would also like to add that my mother has been extremely ill since the meal so there obviously was gluten in the...
