I came here for a date night last night after finding it online. Everything looked the part, outside and in, hard location for people to just come across so it's definitely a place you aim to visit instead. As for the interior you have a really dim but pleasant experience inside. The blossom trees are becoming very common inside restaurants these days but it's always a nice touch. The music is very very repetitive and meant to be background music but it's a tad too loud so you can't help but notice it. The customer service was good, staff were attentive and quick and didn't stop moving across the restaurant taking dishes out to people. As for the tablet ordering system. It felt tacky overall, the app they use works in terms of ordering but it has duplicated images and some seem quite generic photos rather than proper representation of the food you're going to order. This would be so much better if icons are larger showing the dishes and are complete and not half missing. As for the food, it was hit and miss. Very filling which is good. The sushi was nice overall however some parts felt cheap when it came to the quality of meats. The chicken katsu was so fatty and felt very very cheap, off putting.. The gyozas were very greasy which again was disappointing. Some sushi was nice and tasty and others were a bit disappointing. So very hit and miss.. This could easily be improved going forward I'm sure and maybe they're finding their feet. Would try again if I knew it improves.

Another new all-you-can-eat Japanese in Leeds. The interior is excellent with blossom trees. The light is perfect for all kinds of celebrations. The way the restaurant operates is similar to that of its competitor. You can order anything on the menu through the tablet. Service was attentive and quick. The sushi was freshly prepared and presented immaculately. Salmon, tuna, seabass and octopus sashimi were fresh and of top-notch quality. However, the selection is not as extensive as their competitor. The highlight of Sakku is their unique menu (evening only) ranging from cured duck, beef sirloin, lamb, etc. The meats were marinated well and grilled to perfection. We can’t resist a second click on the tablet. These grills are the standout in the restaurant. Price-wise, it is £35 per person and is limited to 1.5 hours. Their manager made us somewhat uncomfortable as he reminded us twice at the beginning about the time limit. We felt rushed by his reminder, which significantly influenced our dining experience. The table is very small for two people. So, you can order up to five dishes at any time. The restaurant is not COVID secure; tables were arranged closely from one to another table. None of the staff had a face mask on. Overall, it was a pleasant experience at Sakku. If you are a sushi lover, then you may want to check out this new restaurant.

I was a little nervous as Sakku had recently opened but we went out to celebrate my wife's birthday and had an exceptional time. They have a different concept where you order what you want from the entire menu and the food arrives fairly quickly - you can continue ordering for a few more rounds, this way you can try quite a few dishes and appreciate the difference between them. The attention given to each dish was amazing, which left you wanting to order more. They took great care to account for any allergies, so be sure to mention it at the start. All the meat, yes ALL meat was halal which isn't common for a Japanese place. No traces of alcohol so it was a real joy to try each dish. All the staff were on point - whether it's being polite and paying attention to your order or just taking care on explaining the dishes, we never once felt ignored and made the experience even more enjoyable. I would definitely, definitely recommend people go check out this new gem in Leeds. For someone who had been visiting the city, it was a triumphant experience and can't wait to go back one day.

Disclaimer: I have worked in hospitality for several years and that is the 1st time I had to be a Karen and walk out of a restaurant. :D

Booked a table for 2 at 19:30 on the 31st of December for New Years Eve dinner and requested a booth. Called up a restaurant prior to ask what time they close, the person on the phone asked when my booking was and said that we can only stay for 1 hour and 30 minutes and MUST leave after that and can't even stay for drinks (which was not stated before paying the £50 deposit or even on their website). Upon arrival reminded that we have requested a booth which was clearly available (there were several other couples on other booths, so the fact that there were only 2 of us wasn't the problem) and got told that we can't have it as there's another party of 4 coming at 19:30, even though we arrived earlier than them we never got an actual reason why we can't have a booth as the restaurant wasn't even half full and there were plenty of other seats available. After asking several times what was the reason why we couldn't have a booth that was empty got the same answer that was 'another party of 4 are coming that have requested a booth' (Which we requested and arrived earlier as well ???) After we decided to not ruin our New Years Eve any more we asked for our deposit back , they said that we can wait for someone to leave from one of the other booths and then sit down there :D How does that make any sense :D The whole time we were dealing with Stefan (Either a manager or a supervisor, didn't really introduce himself until I asked for their name) that clearly needs some customer service training and to take that cheeky smirk off his face when talking to customers. Didn't get my deposit back upon leaving the restaurant either and had to chase it with head office for another week. The waiting staff were lovely though ! And seemed to be understanding about...

Buffet? All you can eat? More like, all the waiters can bring you.

Went yesterday for my partner's birthday, and was a memorable experience for all the wrong reasons. Firstly, the service was absolutely dreadful. Half the food we ordered didn't arrive or took ages to arrive. Its embarrassing to wait nearly an hour for what ultimately ends up being a very small portion of food. Just pathetic. Second, waiters seemed quite unprofessional and would go as far as to say they looked lost when delivering food. Saw a few waiters just wondering around like headless chickens asking tables if they ordered x item and even asked us if we ordered a specidic food item. Do they not track orders? Third, larger tables clearly got priority. Me and my partner had been waiting for ages and the table next to us was a table of about 8, they were constantly getting food, chatting with the waiters and even going as far as taking pictures with them. It's alright mate, take your photos, we're only been waiting on our food for nearly an hour. Fourth the food itself. Just very mediocre. When the food arrived, you got a tiny portion and makes you question what took so long. The food was either just fine, or inedible. Me and my partner both had crispy beef, legit had the texture of drywood and felt I would get splinters in my mouth. And finally, we were never asked once how our food was. Even when we dropped the service charge (obvs), we were never asked why. Clearly they are not ones for taking criticism.

What needs changing? Pretty much everything to do with food and service, it's a shame as the restaurant itself is pretty, the managers and employees just don't know how to run it. Would only recommend if you are a large group, as that's where their...

We were a group of 7 who were all looking forward to some good Japanese food. Unfortunately, every time we ordered a round of food we waited a long long time for it to come, so we tried to order the next round as soon as the previous round came in. STILL, our food took a long time to come where we were receiving the wrong orders and getting newer orders before food from the first round! Still waiting and finally feeling somewhat full although a long wait, we still hadn't received some food from the earlier rounds so presumed that we hadn't ordered correctly on the iPad. So we decided to order ice creams for dessert which kept coming straight away and satisfied us to end our meal. All of a sudden, some of the sushi we ordered within the first 10 minutes of us arriving there and orders from way before we ordered ice creams, suddenly began turning up left right and centre! Now we were left with small plates of food that we couldn't eat due to us now being full as we didn't expect this food to come almost 2 hours late. The manager of the store proceeds to rudely state how much food we 'wasted' although it came almost 2 hours after we ordered. Despite our frustration we came to pay the bill which came at £57 each for below mediocre sushi too! Due to the poor service from the majority of the staff and especially the rude manager, I requested that they remove the service charge from the bill where the manager refused to remove it, again claiming we 'wasted' the food.

I have never had to write a bad review before ever, and every bad review I've seen has said pretty much the exact same as me.

Wouldn't recommend paying London prices for average...
