A massive THANK YOU 🙌to Elliot, Chris and the team at The Cross Keys We used the function room upstairs for a surprise party, it was perfect 👍👍. Fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff and the food was great too. The room was cozy and quirky, with a very unique and traditional feel. We were able to add additional decorations to bring our event to life. The private bar was ideal, perfect for our guest, no need to go downstairs. The service from the team, both in planning our event and through the day was fantastic. They were on hand with welcome drinks, created a last minute Celiac platter and sorted emergency candles for the cake (I’d forgotten about both). I’m sure I saw them singing “Happy Birthday” too. The team were very flexible and helped create the theme we wanted, we couldn’t have done it without them, I can’t praise or thank them enough. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great venue. Thank you 🙏🏻 so much. X

I've always used this pub as an "post-drinks" place for the Northern Monk beer festivals - Unassuming from the front of the pub, but never a disappointment for the reasons I visit, always has a great selection of beers on cask and various keg beers on offer, great selection of craft beers - especially a very well kept stock of Belgian Lambics if you fancy sharing a bottle with some friends. Staff are always welcoming and good for a chat when things are quiet. I've been there until closing a few times, and I would say the staff are definitely very patient with the beer nerds like me hanging around!! So thanks for that guys!! Good size beer garden out the back. I can't comment on the food as I've never ordered

A good distance from the city center, less so from the main train station. So if you’re just arriving or waiting to head out on a train, this place is (maybe) worth the walk. A cool little pub in a clearly gentrifying area. Interior is rustic yet modern. They had only two of the four cask handles active. Not to mention at £5 a pint this was the most expensive beer during my Leeds trip. Service was spotty. The guy was friendly and welcoming. The Jersey Shore looking girl acted like she’d rather be anywhere else. Which is cool, just leave your laptop at home or maybe even stay home rather than bring your misery to work and project on other people.

We used to like coming here and remember having really good food well prepared and presented. The menus were always considered and interesting. Staff had a spark about them! They were enthusiastic and welcoming....... But not anymore 😟 We went in on Sunday with family and had reserved a table. Not much of a greeting other than been told " your table is over there" at one time we would have been taken to the table. It wasn't even busy so there is no excuse. The manager who had welcomed us in the past was not his jovial self and was sat at the bar.....it's OK looking hip, but he was downright scruffy! Our meals came and they were swimming in gravy which I can only describe as gloopy! YUK! Plates were loaded with carrots and the parsnips were like shrivelled fingers. What kind of chef cooks this and thinks it's alright to serve. It was a very disappointing experience particularly when we had been raving about it. Seems like someone has lost the love and it shows!!! Won't be back, a real shame because I really...

Sunday lunch has really gone down hill. We used to visit regularly for lunch. However since the refurb the quality of the Sunday lunch has decreased dramatically. We had the ham hock terrine for starter. It was so incredibly dry. We asked for butter to add some moisture to the toast we were served but received margarine. Out of 6 people 5 of us has Beef of which only two of us could eat as is was incredibly tough, even though served medium. Desert was fantastic however. Sticky toffee pudding was one of the best we’ve had. However the ice cream that accompanied it was full of ice chunks. The beer selection is still great however it’s a shame they have moved away from the local selection they had previously to mainly bottled...
