WHAT A GORGEOUS RESTAURANT THIS IS!!….. We visited for the first time 5/9/2025….. My son had chosen this place having found it on Google and chose to have his Birthday celebration meal here. First impressions as we walked in were excellent. The decoration is truly stunning and it was obvious that someone had poured much thought and love into creating a seating area that felt so authentic, cosy and inviting. We were served by Chi and Huyen who were simply amazing! Chi greeted us and took some considerable time explaining Vietnamese foods to us, after we had said we had not had it before. ( We did not ask her to explain and the fact that she chose to do so says much about her outstanding customer service. Throughout our entire time she was so attentive to service. Huyen in equal measure is truly amazing! So friendly and recommended the perfect drinks to go with our food. We all agreed that these two gave the best service we can ever remember receiving in any restaurant that we have ever visited and they were a huge part of our enjoyment. Thank you girls! The food was phenomenal!!! It tasted amazing! Really generous portion sizes and the prices we agreed were extremely good. Presentation was beautiful! 👏👏👏….. Wait time for orders and also in between courses was perfect…. Long enough to be ready for the next, but not too long to feel as though you were kept waiting. Oh and then there’s the cocktails!….. One word…. “Wow! “ We were fortunate to get to speak to the owners just before leaving…. Doing so it became evident why it’s such a beautiful place…. These guys really have worked hard for this and we wish them all the success in the world!! We cannot wait to return. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND HOIANA!!…… We are so glad we found you! Thank you so much for a beautiful evening and especially the little surprise that you unexpectedly did for my sons Birthday. ( That in itself says how much you care about guests having the best of times in your company ) ❤️

WE had three courses and drank cocktails, beers and coffee…. Everything was...

Went on Sat night and felt like I’d landed in a Ramsay Kitchen Nightmare episode! The restaurant was totally overwhelmed both front of house and in the kitchen.

After a very long wait for both drinks and food, they served us dishes that should never have left the kitchen.

A shaken beef dish that tasted off, a salmon lemongrass dish that was underwhelming in flavour, and Morning glory (that’s usually crunchy and juicy) tasting like overcooked french beans.

The chef said he rushed our order and admitted the beef was raw in the middle 🤢(which is why it smelled and tasted so bad).

Positives were that the staff listened to the feedback graciously. The restaurant looked pretty. The chicken wing starter was tasty.

They took the beef off the bill and recommended we try their Pho and Hoiana Chicken next time. There won’t be a next time sadly as first impressions last.

The meal was so unsatisfying that I walked straight to Viet Bistro, got delicious takeaway and went home! 😆 Viet Bistro is a staple favourite and I couldn’t have Hoiana literally leaving a bad taste in my mouth!

If Hoiana can’t cope with a half full restaurant, they should seriously reconsider scaling back the large menu to 10 dishes which they can cook well and serve quickly, otherwise there’s little chance this place will survive.

I really wish I was giving Hoiana a 5-star review because, I love to support local, independent businesses, I love Vietnamese food and I live only 10 mins walk away.

I wish them the best of...

I went on the grand opening of this restaurant as I have been following their journey on instagram!

I am fairly impressed how they have transformed this place, it feels very authentic with the lanterns and yellow paint.

The wait for the food was a bit long which is understandable as it is their first day so I am fairly confident they are gonna improve their pace. The waitress was very kind and took good care of us, making sure we had everything we need and supplying us with clean napkins and cutlery every time we finished a new meal.

We decided to go for the Hoi An starter which is £10 per person; it came in this big plate with samples of different starters on the menu. It was very delicious and tasted very authentic with the fresh flavours of mint and pickled vegetables. I had to applaud them for the most delicious summer rolls I ever had in a restaurant! Overall the starter was very good but would like a bigger portion as it is quite pricey.

Next, I had ordered a grilled pork with rice noodle salad and Hoi ain chicken with rice. Both meats were cooked to perfection and melted right in your mouth! My only pet peeve was the I would prefer more fish/Vietnamese sauce as I live to drown my noddles in it, but that is just my preference. Overall, the two meals were very delicious with generous amount.

I love that you could see family and friends coming to the grand opening to support the owner, which tells me that lots of love and labour went into this place and Hoiana can count on...

I went to visit hoiana after craving Vietnamese food but didn’t want to try the ones in the city centre so gave here a try after seeing the great reviews. We came as a walk in and luckily managed to get a space as it was also quite busy for a Sunday lunch time service. The female waitress and manager were very accommodating and friendly to us. Firstly, the location is great especially on a sunny day that we visited because it’s next to the canals so it’s quite aesthetic, also the interior has many lanterns so it reminds me of back in hoi an. We ordered a iced coffee which was great and also started with a sharing platter for two, which was surprisingly was well portioned, especially the chunky summer rolls and the skewer and spare ribs were seasoned and cooked well, pairing with 3 respective sauces for each of the starters. For mains I got a beef bun bo hue for myself and my partner got a beef special pho. The broth was decent but unfortunately lacked depth and I’ve tasted better at other spots and in particular the beef for both our dishes were on a drier, tougher side. We did however enjoy the beef balls which were bouncy and tasted homemade but I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite bowl of pho I’ve had in recent times, especially with the slightly more dear price point compared to its competitors. Overall it’s a beautiful place to go to but unfortunately the pho and specifically the meats didn’t hit the spot for me.

First visit and will definitely be back! Missed the fact this place opened late March but clearly established itself very quickly with great service, excellent food and lovely interior. Spoilt for choice on the menu, will definitely need a few visits to sample everything that appeals! A good sign that the place was packed on a Wednesday evening. Lucky to get the last inside table, and were just a couple left outside too. Also Vietnamese customers eating, also a very good sign. Greeted and seated as we walked in, order taken as soon as we were ready, a little while for starter to arrive (although not too long given a big group had ordered ahead of us), and everything was spot on. The chicken skewers and hand finished peanut sauce were really tasty. Went for the most unique dish, oxtail noodle soup, which was extremely tasty and the meat so tender. The Northern Monk IPA was good and a fair price. Food prices are equally very fair and with plenty of choice, incl bespoke options too. Definitely be back, soon!!
