We've been here three times now and we have to stop ourselves coming back, its honestly that good. It is tucked away behind student accommodation which is a bit of a shame for them location wise, but doesn't affect it in the slightest, the site is stunning and brimming with atmosphere. They've stood their ground as a historical pub, which adds to its charm. Approaching on a Wednesday evening, the outside area was chockablock with folk drinking and enjoying the sunshine. What a lovely first impression. So great to see business doing so well midweek. We enjoyed fresh Lindisfarne oysters with bubbly outside before retreating inside. My partner swears they have the best Guinness around, but I went for a French Sauvignon Blanc, which was incredible. Previously, we came here for opening night, and on Sunday for a roast, both times were amazing, but this time topped it for me. Highlight for me was the mussels on toast with the lobster bisque. My boyfriend couldn't stop raving about the fresh ham with its own mustard menu. Saying that, it was hard to pick a favourite because we ate most of the menu and couldn't fault a thing. Our server was pretty much running solo with a full restaurant, yet she was charming, full of banter, and absolutely smashing it. Be sure to try the smoked peaches for dessert paired with the orange wine. Mind blowing stuff. Well done guys (round...

Enjoyed the food, thought the burger was slightly overpriced for the size especially when you add chips it's over £20 for a relatively small burger.

Ham was excellent and the sausage roll. Prawns were £11 and we got 6 prawns which we wouldn't get again. We had a desert, it was £10 and it was lovely but incredibly small, again overpriced for the portion, should be £8 max.

Drinks were nice but £6.50 for a Guinness when you pay £7 at an airport or in London is really steep for a pub in Leeds. Shame the drinks are so expensive or we'd come in for drinks more often.

We know the cost of everything is going up but it needs to be comparable to other places and worth it for what you get.

It is £85 for a meal for two and one or two pints.

Service was good and everyone was very friendly. The bill was wrong as we'd paid for drinks at the bar while waiting for the table and then these drinks were on the bill as well, little bit strange but it got sorted. I really want to love love this place as I was so hopeful but it fell slightly short of my...

Wow, just wow.

Was spending a night in Leeds and luckily found out about this place. I must have walked past the old pub a few times when walking to/from Brudenell for gigs but never really paid much attention.

Saw a mention on social media and had to come try because it looked amazing - check their socials. It did not disappoint.

Sat in the bar area as the restaurant had a few tables booked due in and the only difference is you need to order at the bar.

Food was stunning. Had the pork schnitzel with the anchovies, the burger (so pink and juicy) and chips. Everything absolutely amazing. Saw a lot of the other dishes coming out, would have eaten the lot.

The Guinness, best pint in Leeds by far. Interestingly a 3 part pour. Well worth the wait.

The actually pub, the decor looks the part. Every little small touch noted, like the Aesop hand soap in the gents.

The team really look after you. I’ll definitely be back and will be sure to check out the sister place.

Only took a picture of the pint, got too...

Such good food in a great old, reopened and well set up old pub packed full of charm. Very good range of beers local and otherwise - three cask, four or five keg - pales, lager/Hells and others and a Guinness. Oh and a cider. Interesting menu of small plates and larger portions. All very indulgent but great to share with friends. Sausage roll and chips / curry sauce were out of this world - sounds weird but it’s true. Everything else was a succession of flavour bombs, wrapped up in friendly and helpful service and a lovely old pub brought back to life.
