The Oven Door Bakery — Restaurant in Leeds

I have been a customer of The Oven Door in Wetherby since a couple of years after it opened in the 1970s. It has always been and still is a source of superb baked goods, made on the premises and sold with friendly care. They have a huge range of bread – my favourites are their organic wholemeal, made to order, and the rye spelt loaf. They make an unbelievable number of sweet treats, such as Danish pastries in several varieties and a wide choice of savouries and sandwiches. They even make jams and chutneys to go with them.

During the ongoing pandemic, they have really ramped up as a community service, delivering their produce, to order, in Wetherby and the surrounding villages. They take orders by email or through their app, amongst other methods.

It is an incredible amount of effort to keep a quality business producing this quantity of excellent food, not to mention delivering it, day after day and always with a smile and a cheerful word.

I say well done to the whole team and I hope the local community appreciates the treasure that they are and continues to reward them with...

The Oven Door is a fabulous bakery and very well loved in Wetherby for very good reason. We have been customers for several years now and the goods baked on the premises are always delicious. Our particular favourites are the French bread sticks, sourdough loaves, sausage rolls, apple curd squares and flapjacks. Service is always friendly and super efficient. For several months now I've also taken advantage of the delivery service so that the wonderful baked goods get delivered straight to our door. I shamefully only started shopping here last April when lockdown started. But I’m so glad I did. Love the bread loaves, so fresh and last for ages. You can ask for them sliced or slice yourself at home. Also I enjoy the croissants, brioche rolls and french baguettes. The sandwich ham and other sandwich fillings (eg chicken tikka) are so tasty. And not forgetting the delicious cakes ... To avoid queues I usually order in advance (on the app) and collect from the side door. They also kindly delivered foc when we were stuck in isolating. Great service...
