Voujon's culinary experience truly shines among the Indian restaurants in Leeds. Having savored a spread of dishes including Paneer Tikka, Paneer Tikka Masala, Bhindi Bhajee, and Sag Aloo, along with a variety of non-vegetarian options, I can confidently attest to their delectable offerings. Among the factors that set Voujon apart is the impeccable balance between price and portion size. This establishment takes pride in generously portioned dishes without compromising on quality. Having explored various Indian restaurants in Leeds, Voujon's affordability and portion adequacy stand out distinctly. The flavor profile, especially in terms of spice levels, is commendable. As an Indian food enthusiast, I particularly appreciated the authenticity and well-balanced spiciness of the dishes. The Paneer Tikka and Paneer Tikka Masala stood out as flavorful delights. While the overall dining experience was impressive, there were moments of mixed interactions with the staff. Though the team was generally accommodating, there seemed to be an instance of less-than-friendly demeanor. However, this was a minor hiccup amidst an otherwise satisfactory visit. Comparatively, Voujon outshines its counterparts like Bundobust, Mongli, and Indian Tiffin in delivering an enjoyable culinary journey. The sumptuousness of the offerings, combined with an authentic taste and fair pricing, positions Voujon as a favorable choice for Indian cuisine enthusiasts.

Omg, what a great find. Staying at the hotel next door so had to come here for dinner and I’m so glad I did. Excellent menu, plenty of new dishes to try. And try I did. Chicken liver tikka, what a dish, melt in your mouth liver covered in an amazing sauce. Fish Chattak, soft, tasty fish curry. Again amazing flavours. Rice and Nan bread also spot on. And to top it off, they even server my favourite Peroni 0.0. Wish this place was closer to home. Visit 2. Picked up a take away while staying at the hotel. Jal Jool sounded interesting with the chillies and pickles, was told that the sauce was very green and I wasn’t disappointed , this is another winning dish. Next time I’m over , I’m having this green dish of spice again.

Well if you look through my reviews you will know we love a good curry this was my 3rd in 4days lol so what's this place like then. If I could give 6* I would from the service, food, decor, beer it was all above expectations, Sid the owner has put his heart and soul into this place and it shows and his chef delivers some of the best Indian food I have tasted in a good while. Quality through and through.on a foot note if you fancy a take away then look no further, sincerely the best Indian takeaway food in Leeds with out doubt.

Hi Owner,

Thanks for investigating the issue.

Though I'm not interested in this any more, after going through the investigation review, unfortunately I had to write this as I would like to present some facts that you haven't been informed / told exactly as it was or the investigation might not have been done in detail.

This is purely just to bring it to your attention & not to prolong or magnify the issue. I haven't got any other option / means to write to you directly, so had to write it as review again.

and for information before proceeding further The quantity was not very small (Please see why would I ask to pack it in the first place if it was very small ?)

It is written that "the waiter has apologised on several occassions" (This is not correct. He did apologised only in the end and the reason I'm saying this is when I called on the phone instead of trying to realise what had happened he indeed said to me that I have called for a minor reason / thing and in turn said I should asked for separate packing in the first place. (how can he decide weather it's a minor or major thing ?) (how would any customer know what are the options that are there in a restaurant unless told in advance ?)

And after reaching the restaurat this was what happened:

as soon as I came to the reception to speak he was not at all interested and inturn said ""Kya baat kar raha hai" which means "what are you speaking ? " and the waiter left impatiently when I was trying to speak and asked me to speak to his colleague. waiter was reluctant to listen or speak waiter was not allowing the customer to explain what has happened to another waiter (indeed he asked me in the first place to speak to his colleague and again he is not allowing this..strange!! and started saying aggressively to leave!!) waiter didn't asked if the customer needs any refund waiter didn't asked if the customer needs any replacement waiter didn't asked if the customer want to leave any feedback about this waiter didn't asked if the customer wants to speak to his manager or lead

and to be honest I was not even expecting any refund or replacement and the only reason I came back again was as I felt painful that I have been judged by saying that I called for a minor thing.

At every stage the waiter has got the oppurtunity to reverse his fault sensibly or atleast present the customer with any one of the above basic steps/options that anyone would do when the fault is at their end which the waiter didn't do.

and this is the point where I have reacted the way I did because end of the day, I'm a human being and I do have emotions and more over it was me having deprived of the food/service what I paid for, me being handed over the pack back, and the waiter being not able to listen and me being interrupted aggressively while i was explaining to another waiter, me being questioned as if that's a minor thing, and in the end me being labelled as aggressive or abusive in your investigation and without my fault in the first place.

all these can be seen if the phone or video conversations would have gone through in detail.

Please understand that you may have received many 5 stars but for me this is just one experience sir.

If you felt that my nature & degree of reaction is disturbing I'm happy to retrospectively analyse/reflect myself on a positive note and on the same note I ask you may be worth giving the waiter/s training/session to present various options/steps before a customer when something goes wrong, so that the fault can be reversed easily which in turn leaves a positive impression.

and above all even after this painful experience if you see my original review I have mentioned that the "food itself is good" which clearly shows that I'm sincere enough to say if it's good, it's good.

Hope this will be understood on a positive note and thanks again & appreciate that the issue has been investigated in the first...

Upon arrival my table of 6 had to wait outside the restaurant for half an hour despite booking beforehand. Whilst waiting here we witnessed others experiencing the same issue and the customers that had actually made it inside seemed disgruntled with one group in particular leaving after far too long a wait for their meal. Even after these red flags and warning from the leaving customers to go elsewhere we decided to give the restaurant a shot - to our own dismay.

After finally making it inside the restaurant to our table we were greeted by grubby table cloths and a lack of cutlery. After hastily being asked to order, the 6 of us ordered our food starting with poppadoms and a few onion bhaji’s to start. To our surprise the bhajis were very fast to arrive and rather delicious, however the poppadoms were never to come. After another 20 minutes we were told they had ran out of poppadoms with no mention to us. Again, we gave the benefit of the doubt and continued with our meal.

After another hour and a half wait for our food to arrive one dish included a rather unwanted ingredient - a long dark hair. The staff offered to remake the meal but after the wait after wait we had experienced so far the meals owner decided himself to eat the tainted dish, not wanting to prolong the groups departure. The meals themselves were delicious and I have little to no complaints that have not already been stated other than ordering a rather hot curry which I had not expected from the menu but I will take this as my own mistake.

At this point the group had maintained high spirits enjoying the meal and drinks. After asking, and again waiting, for the bill to be received we found to have been overcharged on items, checking the bill against the menu. This was ironically the tipping point of the evening, where our moods collectively soured. After sorting this out we were told that the card reader was not working and one of us had to go to a garage across the road to get money and pay in cash. After laughing at the idea of this amongst ourselves the manager aggressively came over to the table despite not being involved in the conversation at all. Seemingly looking for an argument with their customers has become a regular occurrence. After asking him to leave we waited, paid and quickly finally made our exit.

This may be the worst restaurant going experience I’ve ever had and I must say I will not be returning to this restaurant. I highly recommend anyone seeking an enjoyable experience to...

We joined a big birthday party here on 11.02.24 and, were left hugely disappointed. We (my partner and I) ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala (Awful, with sloppy, soup-like sauce!) and a Lamb Rogan Josh (Excellent!). Both arrived without rice or, anything to accompany them? They put down a plate of chapatis on the table so, we took one each, NOT knowing they were someone else's who, then went without! We asked staff where our rice was? They looked at each other blankly, then one said "You have to order it with your main" What?! Who eats a curry without rice or, bread of some kind?! We then asked to order some rice but, it NEVER arrived?! We were thankfully given a little rice from other guests. To be fair; at £10.95 and £11.95 respectively, the prices are okay but, at £11 for 2 pints of Cobra, that killed the 'fair' prices idea for me! It takes pennies to make a portion of rice but, a penny-pinching policy ruined our meal and, thus the evening for us. One HUGELY puzzling thing; I ordered (at the same time as our order) a Chicken Byriani for my sister AND, that DID come with rice as standard? TIP TO PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS: If eating here, ASK at the time of ordering for whatever you want it to be served with because, you WON'T get it retrospectively. TO THE OWNER: Put yourself in the shoes of a client and, make sure your staff make your customers aware of your hit and miss rice policy because, it WILL make or, break, the entire experience of 'VOUJON' for them. Although we live close by and, were hoping to make this our new 'Go To' Indian Restaurant, we'll stick with our usual...
