Appauling from start to finish!! We ordered our food at 6:30pm, got told it would arrive at 8pm which already was a bit of a wait but considering it was valentines day we gave them some leverage. However, half past 8 it still hadn't arrived so we rang & they said it was almost ready. We waited a further 30 minutes & rang again, to be shouted down the phone that they were busy but the food was ready they were just waiting for a delivery driver. Finally at 9:10pm the food arrives, but HALF of it was missing!! We spent £43 on this order, at this point we were understandably frustrated so we rang again & they hung up on us!!!!! This is all without mentioning each time we rang it was taking them ages to answer anyway. My partner decided to go into the restaurant with the food to complain, to which instantly was told 'we can't do a refund' but they said they would happily redo the food. In the time my partner was in the restaurant another driver arrived at home to deliver 1 of the curries that was missing & a bag of 2 of the 4 poppadoms that were also missing, however they were all crumbled! Half an hour later, 10:15pm our food finally got redelivered yet was STILL missing the poppadoms & they didn't replace the curry they delivered 30 minutes before so at this time was stone cold. But obviously as it was late, we'd already been back & fourth for almost 4 hours & already was told we wouldn't get a refund we just decided to take what we were given. But make no mistake that we will NEVER ever be using Castlegate again & will be spreading the word about their appauling service. Order at 18.25pm, received email to say that the order was completed at 19.01, should of been delivered by 19.10. Was still waiting come 8pm. I rang to find out where the order was and had to ring twice as they picked up and put phone straight down again. When I did get to speak to someone he was extremely rude on the phone and like he couldn’t be arsed! Told me the order was with the driver and should be with me soon. Asked where was he coming from as they only on high street and I wasn’t 5min drive from there, with his response being “well we a driver down and got many orders!” And then proceeded to put the phone down on me! When the food did turn up I asked said driver how many deliveries had he done before coming to me and I was only his second delivery! Food was cold naan bread was cold too and hard and no flavour to it at all! Will never go to them again or even eat in their restaurant! The chicken was very tough, The Chicken Tikka Massala came up in what is best described as pieces of meat in a deep bowl of tomato soup. I have never experienced a tough chicken. I ordered Baileys for my wife. I was served a Baileys that had been adulterated with coconut milk. I ordered coffee only to have it curdle when the milk was added, disgusting. The invoice came to £47.00. that included two beers. This was excessive. I live in London, my favourite Indian restaurant serves Indian food. This was a shame as it was my first visit to Lincoln in a very long time. Not to be recommended at any price two out of ten that is only due to the clean tablecloth.
