Absolutely superb.
Had heard good things about the new owners but I was blown away.
The place is small but feels really bright and open, had been before just a week or two prior to the pair that took over and it looks completely different. You don't feel hemmed in anymore.
My daughter had a ciabatta/panini thing that was lovely with roasted vegetables. She is a vegetarian so it was lovely to find somewhere that catered for her so well rather than just the usual couple of slices of quorn. The food was delightful.
I had a jacket potato that came as a decent sized portion with some lovely homemade coleslaw and a bit of salad.
Sorry I'm not good with names but I spoke briefly to a blonde woman behind the till and she was very welcoming and willing to chat (I am a chatterbox) despite it being busy.
The coffee was well done. I am not a huge coffee drinker but there was a lovely pattern on the top that I forgot to take a picture of as I was so eager to drink it. There was a tall ginger lad at the machine, I presume it was he who made it.
My daughter had a milkshake that I wish was a little more fancy but let's face it I'm being picky as it was lovely.
Shame it is so small as I feel these new owners (not sure if they were present or not) could do wonders with some of the tired old coffee shops in the rest of Lincoln. Stokes, Bells be warned! Real competition...
Read moreVisited since the cafe has been under new management and there have been lots of changes, absolutely for the better!
My friend and I went in for lunch after walking up to the bail.
It was reasonably busy and the atmosphere was so happy and inviting. It was all family that were working when we visited which was lovely to see.
Despite it being busy, we were seated almost immediately and were very impressed with the turnover time for tables.
Our drinks came within a few minutes of ordering them. I also ordered the sausage, cheese and onion chutney toasted ciabatta and it was so delicious, I could've eaten it again!
We will absolutely make sure to visit every time we visit family in Lincoln, it's our new favourite in...
Read moreMy mum fancied a coffee up in the Bailgate area and we came to this cafe. I have been before but not reviewed. It’s an absolutely lovely little establishment, the atmosphere is very relaxed and calming. We had two lattes that were very nice, followed by a ciabatta and a toasted tea cake. My ciabatta was heavenly, the sausage, cheese and tangy onion combo was simply divine. After our lunch I had a coke and mum had a pot of tea which she got three cups out of! All in all a very lovely place to admire the beauty of uphill Lincoln and people watch. I’m a local resident and will definitely call in again. It’s also dog friendly too so be sure to bring your pooch with you! Highly...
