Recently had the pleasure of dining at Pho 5 Cornhill Pavement in Lincoln, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the delectable food to the impeccable service, Pho 5 left a lasting impression that I can't wait to share with you.
Ambiance: (5/5) The moment I stepped into Pho 5, I was captivated by the warm and inviting ambiance. The soft lighting and Vietnamese-themed decor created an intimate and cozy atmosphere that was perfect for a relaxed evening of dining. It was clear that they paid great attention to detail when crafting the restaurant's environment.
Service: (5/5) The service at Pho 5 was nothing short of excellent. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, making us feel like valued guests. They were more than happy to guide us through the menu, explaining the different dishes and even offering some personal recommendations. The prompt service and warm smiles from the staff elevated our overall dining experience.
Food: (5/5) Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the food. The menu offered an array of enticing Vietnamese dishes, and I had the pleasure of sampling several. Here are some highlights:
Pho Tai: (5/5) The classic Pho Tai, a beef noodle soup, was a symphony of flavours. The broth was rich, aromatic, and seasoned to perfection, and the thinly sliced beef was tender and cooked just right. This dish truly transported me to the streets of Hanoi.
Pho House: (5/5) The Bun Cha, a dish of grilled beef, prawns, chicken with noodles and fresh herbs, was a delightful surprise. The beef was incredibly flavourful, and the combination of textures and flavours made it a memorable dish.
Goi Cuon: (5/5) The Goi Cuon, or Vietnamese spring rolls, were fresh, light, and packed with vibrant herbs and shrimp. The accompanying dipping sauce added the perfect zing to these delightful appetizers.
Desserts: (5/5) To finish our meal, we indulged in the dessert options. The pandan waffle was a revelation – crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a lovely pandan flavour. The sweet Vietnamese coffee was the perfect way to end the evening, balancing bitterness with sweetness.
In summary, Pho 5 Cornhill Pavement is a gem in Lincoln's culinary scene. The combination of outstanding service and exquisite Vietnamese cuisine makes it a must-visit for food enthusiasts. Whether you're a fan of Vietnamese cuisine or looking to explore new flavours, this place is sure to leave you with a smile on your face and a craving for more. Read moreThis must be the worst restaurant in Lincoln. Went to the restaurant yesterday (160324), was met at the door by a member of staff, without any greeting, no smile or welcome! She showed us to the seat, sat down and the table and seating area was filthy, it clearly hadn't been cleaned from the previous diners, thought I'd landed on a farm, was expecting a trough to come out. She put two menus on the table, no explanation or words came out of her mouth, luckily I'd lived in asia for more than 10 years, and had travelled extensively so I know what good food from this countly should be. She left us for a while, came back and took the order, first words from her mouth "are you ready to order?". Anyway, we ordered a starter to share, a couple of mains and a two drinks. She said all dishes come out when ready in the kitchen! So your starter could come out last, if you're in a big group, some could finish before others, this is not a canteen! it's supposed to be a restaurant, good job we didn't suffer their desserts, they could come out first! The diner is paying and should therefore eat in the order which they require. The kitchen think they are at liberty to serve however, they want, but take note, the customer is always the one choosing to go or not, and I can't see this place staying open much longer! Service aside, the food is NOT authentic and a total waste of time, we couldn't eat the starter, thought not to complain, given the lack of interest from the staff when we arrived, both mains, were truly not to authenticity, both my friend and I sat sipped a little clear liquid, chatted about how poor the place was over the two drinks. Once we'd finished the drinks, the food being 95% left on the table, thought we better go eat somewhere else, so we went next door to the fabulous Botanist restaurant to eat. Do yourselves a favour stay away from this place, hope they close down quickly and make way for a new establishement. Staff of this place, if you read and can understand the customer, get a grip on the staff (front of house), Kitchen staff, major...
Read moreI have not dine here . But want to write my experience
I recently had the opportunity to pick up an order from a well-known PHO restaurant, and I must say, the experience left much to be desired. As an Uber driver, I understand that we often encounter various situations and attitudes from restaurant staff, but the rudeness I faced during this visit was particularly disheartening.
AT restaurant, I was met with a lack of basic courtesy from the lady staff. It was as if they viewed me not as a fellow human doing my job, but rather as an inconvenience. While I recognize that being an Uber driver might not carry the same weight as other professions in some people's eyes, it’s essential to remember that every job has its importance.
Respect is a fundamental part of any service industry, and it shouldn't be too much to expect a little kindness and acknowledgment, especially from a brand that prides itself on customer service. The staff's short-sightedness in treating drivers poorly reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole.
In conclusion, while I appreciate the opportunity to serve my passengers, I hope that restaurants and their staff can remember that we are all part of a larger ecosystem. A little respect goes a long way in making those interactions more pleasant for everyone involved.
I was planning to go for a dinner . But I will...
