I recently visited tortilla Restaurant with high hopes of enjoying a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, my visit left me feeling disregarded and treated as a second-class citizen. The incident revolved around collecting our food, as we were instructed by the staff to wait until other customers were served first because we were too good to go customers.
Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed the elegant ambiance, which initially generated a good first impression. The menu offered a variety of appetizing options, and my anticipation grew as I eagerly awaited our meal. As we placed our order at the counter, the staff seemed professional and courteous.
However as we were next in line new customers arrived. We were informed that, despite our order being ready, we would have to wait for the customers that aren't too good to go to be served before we could collect our meals. This unexpected policy left us feeling like an afterthought, overshadowing any positive aspects of our visit.
The wait extended far longer than we had anticipated, as we observed other diners, who had arrived after us, swiftly receive their orders. It felt unjust to witness others receive preferential treatment while we were left waiting at the side. This treatment fueled a sense of inequality and frustration, diminishing our overall experience.
Moreover, the lack of communication from the staff further added to our disappointment. A simple explanation regarding the reasoning behind this policy or an update of our estimated wait time would have gone a long way in assuaging our concerns. However, the staff seemed disinterested and failed to proactively address the situation.
Despite this unfortunate experience, I must acknowledge the quality of the food itself. When we finally received our meals, they were freshly prepared and tasted delicious. The flavors were well-balanced, highlighting the skill and expertise of the kitchen staff. It's a shame that the restaurant's policies overshadowed the potential enjoyment of our dining experience.
In conclusion, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend tortilla Restaurant due to the disappointing treatment we received. Although the food was excellent, being treated as second-class citizens left a lasting negative impression. Hopefully, the management will reevaluate their policies and ensure that all customers are given equal respect and attention. Until then, I suggest proceeding with caution or exploring alternative dining options. I just wish that if you give us a time window to collect our food in you would stick to it , "between 20:30 to 9". Otherwise adjust the collection times to suit your needs as even as we were being served a deliveroo order came in and the manager informed us that that had to be done first (as we were...
Read moreWell I guess I'm going against the main flow of reviews. The helpings are small for the price and some of the toppings are charged at a higher price.. although, to be fair, this is mentioned on the menu outside. Also the soft tacos fall apart as the ingredients are too 'wet' making eating them difficult to pick up. Tacos should be messy and fun but hold the ingredients together rather than disintegrate making the food plain old difficult to eat. These are certainly a long way from authentic 'Californian tacos' and even further from true mexican food..more of a UK 'fast food' interpretation, a Taco Bell experience. The place isn't particularly atmospheric either, certainly not a Mexican vibe although the staff were pleasant and helpful, ..nice of them to ask me if everything was ok, even before I'd started eating! Sorry but not impressed. (and yes I've eaten this type of food in both Mexico and California). I'm afraid I won't...

Food is good but the staff are so annoying the way they take your order. Example: I came in the other day and the person serving me comes to the counter, apparently her friend arrived after me and my server first stares at me for ages (as if trying to decide whether she needs to talk to her friend first or me, even though I'm here first and I am the customer). She then looks away from me, then talks to her friend first (no professionalism) then stares at me some more, then takes my order. This is annoying and rude. I expect better. Do your job. And why are you staring at me, in 99.9999 percent of shops the cashier asks what you want and initiates the order, processes it, done. This is just common professionalism. And, they rush through the fillings too quickly, just slow down, let me know the prices and give me some...
