Oh, the charms of Liverpool’s Smithdown Road have been elevated with the addition of Epicerie Fine! This gem of a café/restaurant is a delightful escape to the rustic alleys of Paris without ever leaving the heart of Liverpool.

First, let’s talk about the food - it’s simply divine. Each dish is a love letter to French cuisine, crafted with passion and flair. From the buttery croissants to hearty mains, every bite promises a gastronomic journey to the heart of France. And the drinks? The coffee would make any Parisian nod in approval, while the wine list offers a curated tour of France’s finest vineyards.

But it’s not just about what’s on the plate or in the cup. The ambiance is equally intoxicating. Whether you’re whispering sweet nothings on a romantic date, enjoying quality family time, or hunting for a cozy nook to get some work done, Epicerie Fine sets the scene just right. And with its affordable prices, you can indulge without breaking the bank.

The event nights? An absolute must. They’re the kind of evenings you’ll chat about for weeks, bringing a sprinkle of French festivity to Liverpool.

Yet, what truly makes Epicerie Fine shine is its wonderful staff. A special shout-out to Niall and Sarah, who, with their impeccable service and warm smiles, make every visit feel like a return to a beloved friend’s home.

In essence, Epicerie Fine is more than just a café or a restaurant. It’s a slice of France in Liverpool, welcoming everyone with open arms. Whether you’re seeking a delicious meal, a glass of exquisite wine, or simply a corner to relax in, this is the place to...

It’s so nice to go out for breakfast and have such an eclectic menu to choose from - such interesting and tasty savoury and sweet options on offer 😋😋😋

The food is made with love and care and it’s very obvious that the ingredients used by the fantastic chefs are all of a very high quality

The front of house staff don’t let the back of house staff down at all - Niall and his team are very welcoming

We had the sweetcorn fritters with chorizo salsa and a fried egg and the roasted tomatoes ,avocado cream , red pepper paste and pine nuts - both dishes were no more than a tenner each .

We have eaten here in the evening and have always had amazing food - they have a good deli too with some fantastic French wines and cheeses to choose from - they do excellent hampers as well as other French produce which make excellent gifts too.

In this economic climate where eating out is a treat it is great to be able to support an independent establishment who really do put the extra effort it - at very affordable prices too

I can’t recommend this place enough - even the coffee is very good and the Bloody Marys...

I have never reviewed before but am compelled to do so. First time at this restaurant. Even though the restaurant was fairly quiet my wife and I waited over 15' for our starter ( in fact, my wife had to remind them!). We then waited a further 20' for our mains. I ordered the special, Dover sole which, I have to say, wasn't special. It was mostly bone smothered in peas with fries. Dauphin potato and veg would have been a more fitting option. My wife had steak which she said was ok. I had to ask for another plate for the bones as they were mixing with the ( small amount of flesh). Effectively it was the most expensive fish and chips I've ever had and certainly not one of the best!! The whole experience was well below par. We...

Booked a table here for my birthday brunch, despite it being a busy Saturday morning (& us being a big party + a toddler) the staff were absolutely amazing, so attentive & polite. I’ve visited before and decided on the place for my birthday because of the food, it’s SO good… special mention to the French Toast (omg). I wasn’t let down, the food and drinks (elderflower spritz was the best thing I drank all day) were amazing! - again, despite it being busy the quality of every dish and drink we ordered was 11/10!! So tasty & delicious, and all arrived nice and fast. I can’t thank the staff, front and back, enough for a wonderful service and making the day so special, thank you!

Absolutely lovely cafe/delicatessen with a fantastic ambiance, gorgeous fresh food (I had the mushroom with a light pastry - wished I'd paired with a glass of red wine, rather than a coffee), and attentive service. Really relaxing stop on our way to a walk around Sefton Park. I can see this becoming a regular pit stop on our journeys around the area. Decor is tastefully put together with a bright and airy feel. Brilliant new venue on Smithdown. A real credit to the local owners. Shame I didn't get some better photos, go and see for yourself as it's definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended. 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
