Manna — Restaurant in Liverpool

Encouraged by positive reviews on Just Eat I made the MISTAKE of ordering from this restaurant online! After adding 10 minutes to the hour agreed, the take away failed to appear. When I called the restaurant the girl sounded totally vacant and had no idea where it was. As it wasn't at the restaurant she assumed it must be on its way. Half an hour later I called again and she was as clueless! The driver did appear eventually but claimed that he had no change (it was his first day on the job apparently). I did suggest that he called back with change so I could eat the food in the meantime but the restaurant preferred me to return it (2 and a half hours later, tepid as it was) I only hope it didn't end up at someone else's door! The restaurant claim that they discovered (that night) that the driver was working for a rival restaurant at the same time but having read these reviews I doubt it! They were allowed (by Just Eat) to cancel the order to avoid a negative review. No wonder they are highly rated on that site then!...

Manna was this was a bad idea. If I could give them no stars I would!

We ordered over £60 worth of food and it was a nightmare. They phoned and said it was on its way after an hour and a half, half an hour after its estimated delivery. We then looked back after two hours and said we'd like a refund and the food due to the poor service, and they said they could give us a refund. After some further time we looked again and they said that we were to receive a refund but no food as it had been cancelled. So the call saying it was on its way had been a complete lie. When we phoned to complain about the poor service and the confusion they were on other phones and very rude. We received no food after two and a half hours and very hung up on several times. Excellent food! I only popped in because the chippy I usually go to was packed (bank holiday) I strolled past and saw it was empty and like the menu.

I opted for curry fried rice and chips (usual chippy fave) and BBQ spare ribs after being recommended to try them. I was not disappointed! The flavours from both dishes were amazing, ribs were next level. You can tell that the food here is made with love and knowledge.

The only reason I haven't rated 5* is because there is no card machine (it's 2021) I was still able to pay by card... However to just tap and go is easier.

Anyhow.. That doesn't take away from the excellence...
