Decided to try somewhere new as it was our anniversary and the first time I was eating out in a little while. Decided to try some Turkish coffee, strong and flavourful. Partner decided to go with Turkish tea, also perfectly balanced flavour. For starters we had some fresh bread, hummus, feta cheese and spinach spring rolls. Staff helped us by explaining the vast menu, letting us know how big things are and what’s popular. I decided to try a mixed grill, watching all the beautiful and equally massive meals pass by made me second guess my choice multiple times. Partner went with lamb skewers. The food arrived quickly and so did some free testers, they gave us some small tasters between our starter and main. The tester dish was crunchy bread with what I can only describe as pate, salted butter and jam. (Obviously it wasn’t that but it’s the best description I could come up with) 10/10 for flavour. Tucking into our starters and warm drinks, we knew we made a good decision, the flavours were amazing and everything had great balance and was seasoned perfectly, in fact I didn’t add any sauce, salt or anything to any of my meal, a first for me. Also, lots of professional, polite and friendly staff everywhere in the restaurant, a rare thing nowadays. Will definitely go back and try more things from the menu, beware that dishes are massive and no matter what your appetite, you will be full to the brim. Thanks to the chefs and staff, loved the food and service.

Today I had the pleasure of dining at ETCI MEHMET | Turkish Steak in Liverpool, and I must say, it was an excellent experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, the staff (Ruben and Rayid - I believe ) were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel comfortable even though I was dining alone. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for a great meal. I ordered the sirloin steak with fries and salad, and it was absolutely delicious. Cooked perfectly to medium, the steak was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The portion size was just right, and the accompanying sides complemented the dish beautifully. For dessert, I had their famous baklava with ice cream in the middle, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The portion was generous, and the combination of the rich, flaky baklava with the creamy ice cream was simply divine. One thing to note is that they don’t serve alcohol, but personally, that wasn’t an issue—I don’t need alcohol to enjoy a great meal! Overall, ETCI MEHMET delivers simple things at their finest. The food is delicious, the service is top-notch, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. I’m so glad I stopped by and will definitely be returning (hopefully they open in London). A well-deserved 5 out of 5!

Such an odd experience here. We were excited about their steak, ordered a Dallas and a Filet mignon, both Medium Rare. When the steaks arrived, one was room temperature cold, other was hot. One was cooked medium, the other one came out well-done (see pictures I posted). We obviously didn’t enjoy it, but dismissed it, and ate about half the meal. A staff cleared our plates once we told them we were done. A few moments later, our waiter comes back aggressively and asks “You don’t like meat??” I was like… what? (Maybe I misunderstood. He asks again “you don’t like meat?” And I was so blown away at the hostility and confused what that even meant. I assumed it was he saw we didn’t finish the meal 100%. So I told him, yea, it wasn’t what we expected, the meat was too cooked. THEM, he starts arguing with me, and teaching me about the meat, and why I’m wrong (again, see pics below of the meat that I ordered medium rare) I just laughed it off because of how ridiculous this all was. I truly am confused at all the 5 star reviews. Their food was not good at all. They are all show, no substance when it comes to the food.

Group of us went for the first time after hearing good things about it but all id say is avoid at all costs. Toros which is right opposite is much better.

Got enticed in by the Ramadan offer of a free bland tasteless porridgy soup and dates.

Waiter with round glasses and beard was so rude and looked fed up, in the end apologised because he was fasting but that’s no excuse.

Food came in dribs and drabs by the time the last item arrived 2 people were already finished. Had to ask for our drinks repeatedly and didn’t get them until half way through the meal.

For a steak which I paid £32 for youd think you get sauce but no, had to pay £2.50 extra for watery peppercorn sauce. Got french fries with some sort of weird seasoning as they don’t even do steak chips.

The whole vibe was weird. The tables were too close to eachother and the walk way where waiters would be was very narrow. Countless times waiters would be like “excuse me sir, watch your head”. Loud Whitney Houston music being played on repeat too - what’s that all about?

Overall t-bone steak was ok but definitely not worth £32, the waiter got angry with our questions and with the fact we weren’t ready to order - he kept coming over then leaving when we told him we weren’t ready then came over again in 5 minute intervals and getting annoyed even though we didn’t ask him to come.

Got charged £20 service but it was too awkward to ask to be removed and the other staff were fine.

Overall do not...

At first, I was quite happy that I was getting complementary dates and soup for Ramadan. The soup, while delicious, was only mildly warm and about a quarter of the small bowl. The grilled salmon I ordered was kind of nice, but definitely not worth the £20. After I finished, I was waiting for desert. Apparently they forgot since a waiter asked me if I wanted anything else. When I told him I already ordered some grilled pineapples for dessert (£8), he said it would take about 10 to 15 minutes to prepare. I didn't think much of it as mistakes can happen. Since then, two more waiters came to me. The first came 20 minutes later to "confirm" my order, "assured" me it was being prepared and that it will "soon be ready". The second was this "eager" waitress who came to me with the card reader with a look in her eyes that I can only understand as "What are you still waiting for? Please pay up and get out." but was "subtly" intercepted by two other waiters, after which she went back to her place near the entrance. And finally, after 45 minutes of waiting, I had enough. I picked myself up, payed £30.8 for the whole thing and left. Which was another surprise. 10% "Service Charge"? Please be upfront and put that into the menu's prices directly instead of sneaking in your petty greed into the bill. A tip should be optional, not included by default. Never coming back. Never...
