Had visited both restaurants previously for dinner and really enjoyed, however Sunday breakfast experience was disappointing. Over an hour wait for 1 English breakfast, 2 Italian, 1 Turkish and a teacake for a toddler. Good enough when the 1 year old was clearly having a hunger tantrum the staff brought the teacake out for him but I felt the wait was unnecessary, we weren't offered complimentary drinks or an explanation. Also the tiles in both male and female toilets were badly cracked and they all looked like they needed an uplift. The food was okay but I found a bowl of yoghurt with ham and eggs on sourdough toast a bit random, the Turkish breakfast is a meze selection of savoury and sweet which doesn't all compliment each other. Wouldn't visit for breakfast again unfortunately.

If you are looking for trendy and tasty then this is the place to go. Located in the heart of Woolton village this is a gem; traditional Turkish food at a very reasonable price. Fantastic customer service, a very relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant itself. The food service is fast with no long delays. Plenty of space for large families or groups of friends. The menu itself has an array of choice, you will not be disappointed! Having tried many different Turkish restaurants within the UK I can safely say this is one of the best if not the best. In terms of price for quality this is unrivalled, with a menu which is very reasonable given the high quality of food.

Is it a factory lunch or a Saturday family breakfast? This morning, we went to Istanbul BBQ for breakfast with our guests—7 adults and 3 children. We ordered 6 Turkish breakfasts, but only 5 arrived. We asked for more bread, but they insisted they had brought everything, even though some items were missing. I was shocked by how careless and inattentive they were. Despite pointing out that the plate shouldn’t look like this, they didn’t offer to change it. They claimed they were out of plates due to being busy, even though only about 4 or 5 tables were occupied inside. I definitely do not recommend it!

Sadly this restaurant has gone downhill. Whilst the food is lovely, the service last night was shocking. We’d booked online, received two confirmation emails and called the restaurant to make sure everything was booked. On arrival our booking wasn’t on the piece of paper the staff member had. A table was found and we sat down after half an hour of waiting. Our first drinks were bought fairly quickly but it took 2 hours to get our food because the staff member who took our order, by her own admission, forgot to put it through. The order was however wrong with two starters being bought to the table instead of two mains, we were told it would be at least half an hour to rectify the mistake so were offered some rice and chips to go with the starters instead. Our second round of drinks had to be requested again because again she forgot! Understandably it was New Year’s Eve and busy, but that should have been taken into account by the owners and extra staff laid on to account for the increased footfall. We saw people walking out and one poor couple after waiting two hours for their food, which never came, were told even if they paid for the drinks they’d had they would still not get their deposit back for booking the table. Then there was the male staff member, possibly the manager or chef, arguing and shouting with someone in full hearing of the customers. We’ve been going to the Istanbul restaurant for many years and seen it grow, it’s just a shame the service hasn’t grown with the restaurant. I’ve never heard so many staff apologising about the service given. Last night, without doubt, was sadly the worst service I’ve ever witnessed in a restaurant. On leaving the restaurant people were queuing out of the door and standing in the rain because the tables they’d booked were not available. Sadly I doubt very much we’ll go back to the Istanbul again, which is a real shame as it used to be an...

My partner and I booked the Istanbul restaurant for our anniversary and I am disgusted with what was served to us and how we were treated. I was served under cooked, partially raw chicken on my main course. I explained to the waiter and showed him the blood oozing from the chicken. He apologised and asked if I would like to order something else. I then explained to him, that after eating some of the meal and then seeing the blood from the chicken on my plate, I had pretty much lost my appetite. He then returned and said he had removed the main course from the bill. We were then given the bill for the starter and wine and promptly ignored for the remaining time we sat at the table. The staff could see that we were unhappy but no one made any attemt to reconcile the situation and our evening was subsequently ruined. I felt like explaining to the waiter that under cooked chicken is not a customer option but a dangerous mistake by the kitchen staff, but by this time we felt so uncomfortable, we just wanted to leave. As for the food we did manage to eat, I have to reiterate what some of the other reviews have said and that most of it tastes like generic pre bought produce. The salad, olives and bread were fresh but everything else seemed so bland and lacked any real taste. Turkish cuisine should be packed with flavour, spice and freshness, but what we were served was bland and underwhelming to say the least. If you like bland under cooked food posing as Turkish cuisine, then this is the place for you. But if you know your food, how it should taste and how you expect to be treated as a paying customer, then seriously AVOID the Istanbul bbq and...

I have been here before and have always enjoyed it however after last night I will never go back. Our table was booked for 7.45 by 8.10 we had not ordered a drink or been given a menu. We should have realised then that there was an issue as the place was freezing cold with people eating in coats. I reminded the waiter that we were waiting and he said sorry everyone has come in at the same time. Surely they should have spread the bookings out. Finally ordered and got drinks. But noticed other tables were complaining about different things. We didn't want a starter opting for the complimentary breads which came about 8.30. Food came about 9pm. My partner ordered his favourite lamb ribs. Now I don't think its to much to expect some meat with the fat or is that just us. My food was ok. But we couldn't eat it as no sooner as it arrived it went cold due to the temperature in the place. We then gave up and asked for the bill. £56 for cold inedible food. I complained and said would not pay for the mains. The staff member apologised saying the boiler broke 3 days ago. They did waver the whole bill which was nice. But why the hell are they taking bookings in the middle of the coldest spell we have had knowing they have no heat and customers would have to leave their coats on to eat. Farcical. I felt sorry for the birthday meals that were taking place. I know restaurants are struggling but people also can't afford to waste money eating cold food. Really sad that we won't come back as one of my favourite restaurants...
