Popped in here for a nice meal with some friends. There was no one on the door and we went inside and sat down. Then a woman came to our table saying "ID'S please"... I was like.. come again? She said you need IDs to be in here. It was 8pm on a Thursday... and there was no one at the door either so I assumed we were allowed in (I'm 27 years and I DO NOT DRINK alcohol). I think if youre going to insist on ID'ing people, maybe have someone at the door? It was humiliating being the one without the ID too as I'm the one who doesn't drink (so why would I bring my ID anywhere). It didn't really make sense and left me with only sour words about the place and a feeling of being "pushed out" of an establishment that I was really excited to try.

The woman who asked for the IDs was also incredibly rude and dismissive of any questions. I tried asking "can I sit and eat and not drink" she just blinked really fast and said "IDs please". Wouldn't say shes the most professional.

Cold feeling lady staff, very...

Caleb at this location has absolutely no right to be titled the manager. The customer service skills we received were abysmal. After waiting 45 minutes for 3 drinks to be made and food to come we got informed our table number was not correct. The food had been delivered to another table (which may I include they ate and did not pay for). They refunded our order of the food, but made us pay for the drinks again, assuming that I could afford this as the refund takes 48 hours to come through. Customer service should be the number one priority for anyone working within this sector and the standards of this “bar” are severely lacking. Steer clear if you’re looking for a good time as the energy the staff emit bring the whole mood down.

(Picture includes the table number which they switched in order to further make it feel as though it was our fault and not a staff...

One item from my food & drinks order via the’Crafted Social’ app was not available- a pint of craft beer. My server gave me a “Void” slip from the till for the value of the item. I ordered a replacement which I then paid for separately. Before leaving the pub I pointed out to the server that the 2 debits were showing on my online banking app but not the credit for the item that was not available. She told me it could take up to 24 hours to appear in my account. I telephoned the pub on several occasions and was told to wait, but no credit appeared in my credit card account. Eventually I emailed the pub who asked for a refund from the Stonegate Pub Group who run the ‘Crafted Social’ app. This finally achieved a refund - two and a half weeks later. Using the app to order did not prove to be an...

I personally haven’t tried their food but all I can say is that Hope and Anchor is the best place to have Pre-drinks before heading out-out into town. The service I would rate it a 5 on my opinion when it’s less busy, but when it is busy and there are queues then obviously you would have to wait. They pour the beverages quite quickly. The staff were polite and friendly. Atmosphere overall is definitely a 5 star for me because they have pool tables, darts and plenty of TV’s to watch live sports. On every Friday they have Karaoke night which is great fun; I personally don’t have a great singing voice 😂😅 I highly recommend this place 👍🏼 my SC: ste_c666

Great friendly atmosphere, staff are very friendly and welcoming. The beer is rather nice, despite the price being a bit expensive compared to when it used to be called Scream. Food is rather lush, the only issue I have was the chicken wings seemed to be over cooked and badly burnt/black. as you can see from the photo. Apart from that it's highly recommended fo anyone who wish's to shoot some pool and have a drink or something to eat. They also have a reward card which costs £1 but you get points added to it each time you buy something. and they also do 50% days sometimes. for card holders. so it's worth checking out.
