Frederiks — Restaurant in Liverpool

I got in touch with Amy back in November over a phone call and planned the entire event via phone and email and didn't actually meet Amy till the night of the event!

She was super helpful and got back to me with everything very quickly and helped us navigate planning our Ball with the university Guild of Students and made the entire planning process as stress free and easy as possible! All of the information given was clear and straight forward which meant that there was never any confusion and any questions I had were answered thoroughly each time.

Amy also reached out to me at regular intervals just to check in with planning and making sure that I had all the help that I needed. She also recommended other suppliers too, who were fabulous and really added to the night to thank you! We really felt taken care of leading up to the event which made it a relatively stress free process!

The Event - a University Society Ball

The service was fabulous! I apologise, I cannot remember the names of everyone working on the night but, Amy was great - she came in and greeted us, explained the room set up and the night and introduced me to the manager, John. John was great, he was in and out of the event, checking in periodically to make sure everything was going well and if we needed anything and helped to coordinate the night. The two bartenders (I'm so sorry, I can't remember your names but it was a lovely guy and girl who we gave brownies to because they were that lovely) they were wonderful, they were so helpful, especially for those in our class who requested non- alcoholic drinks. They were super friendly and always on hand if we needed anything, too!

The Pill Box was the perfect size for us, our small class of 60 people! The room is very vibey, appropriately lit and very aesthetic! The projector and microphone were great for us to present our awards and to play our own music through the system, too! Enough room for everyone to sit and to have our photobooth and candyfloss machine! It was clean, set up and ready to go!

The food was delicious! We ordered off the buffet menu and the food came out super hot and everyone was able to enjoy their food and everyone was happy with drinks at the bar as well! Everything was great on the night and we all felt super well looked after!

We would 100% recommend Frederiks Pill Box room to anyone that wants to throw a relatively small and private get together/ party! We had so much fun and Frederiks made the entire process stress free which was great!

We booked The Pillbox at Fredriks as the venue for our wedding party back in June and it was undoubtedly the perfect choice. After being astonished by the high prices of other venues in Liverpool City Centre - especially for what you get in return - our meeting with Fredrik’s team was a breath of fresh air. The space is brilliant, their minimum spend is so attainable and it’s by far the best catering we’ve ever had at an event.

Every member of staff we met along the way was nothing short of fantastic. From meeting Adam on our first visit to see the space and discuss our plans, the events team, the managers and the staff on the night. We are also extremely grateful at how the team dealt with catering for a party with a guest who has a life threatening nut allergy, they did everything they could at every step of the way to reassure us about this. We’d like to give a special thank you to John who looked after us both in the daytime when we came to decorate, into the night until he handed us over to another staff member and then again on the next day. He went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, making sure we had everything that we needed and communicating clearly with us throughout. John was there again when we returned to collect our decor and it was great to catch up with him about the night before. He told us how great of a group we had; he didn’t have to say this but it was extremely lovely to hear that it also meant that the night went well for him too. We can’t sing his praises enough, he was great at his job and was a pleasure to be around.

Almost every conversation we’ve had with our friends and family following the wedding has had a mention of how amazing the space was and how especially great the food was. We bought bespoke wedding pizza boxes assuming there would be plenty of food left over, as we see at many weddings we go to, and we did not want any to go to waste. But it turns out that there was no need for us to get these as there were 3 slices of pizza left by the end of the night. We have never been to a wedding/party where there have been so little leftovers. Over a month later, people are still telling us how amazing the food was - in particular the pizzas and mac and cheese croquettes.

Fredriks exceeded our expectations in every way, and we made precious memories there to last a lifetime. We would recommend the venue for any event but particularly to any couple looking to celebrate their wedding. And please never take the fairy lights down - they’re such a great addition to the room and made our photos...

We had our wedding reception at Frederiks and honestly, it was the best decision we made. It suited us perfectly – relaxed and not too fussy. The space looked beautiful with all the fairy lights, and She's Electric Events came in to add a few extra touches which made it feel even more special.

In the run-up, both Adam and Nina were amazing. Adam was fantastic at explaining how the evening would run, giving us different seating options and really listening to what we wanted. I’d said I wanted everyone to be able to sit down for part of the evening but also have space for dancing later. He suggested a mix of trestle tables and couches at the back, which worked so well. Nina was also brilliant – always quick to reply to emails and happy to have a phone call to talk things through, which really put me at ease.

The food was another big highlight. We had loads of great menu options to choose from, and on the day it was absolutely perfect – exactly the kind of food we love. Every single guest, from the oldest at 85 to the youngest at 11, loved it. Not a single complaint, and people couldn’t believe how much food there was! I didn’t get any photos of the food because I was too busy enjoying it – which says everything really.

Later on, they brought out bowls of chips for the evening guests which went down a treat. We played our own music through our phones and Frederiks had an adaptor ready so we could easily switch between them – really handy and took the stress out of it.

The bar staff were amazing, friendly, quick and totally on it all night. There was never a queue, which everyone commented on. The manager that evening was fantastic too. Partway through, I mentioned we were ready to open up the dancefloor a bit more, and without any fuss, he and the bar staff moved some of the tables while I stayed with our guests – which I really appreciated.

The whole evening had such a chilled and welcoming feel. Everything ran smoothly, everyone felt comfortable, and we didn’t have a single thing to worry about. When we went back later in the week to collect a few bits we’d forgotten, they’d kept everything safe for us which was just another lovely touch.
