Alright, listen up. You want a night out that's not just a "night out"? A place where you're transported miles away from the mundane? Then, White Tower in North Wales isn't just an option—it's your only option. I'm not messing around when I say this is one of the best restaurant experiences you'll ever have in Wales.
The Food: Firstly, let's get to the core of any restaurant—the food. We're talking authentic Greek cuisine here, so forget your usual gyro from a street vendor. The moussaka is a soul-warming blend of layered eggplant, minced meat, and creamy béchamel. The feta wrapped in filo and drizzled with honey? It’s like a Greek grandma came out of retirement just for you. Make no mistake, the flavours are bold, the presentation is stellar, and the ingredients are top-notch. It's the kind of food that sets the standard, the kind you'll measure all future meals against.
The Atmosphere: But hang on, White Tower isn't just resting on its culinary laurels. The atmosphere is electric. Live music isn't piped in through sub-par speakers—it's live, authentic, and pulsing through the room. The air gets thick with the soulful notes of bouzouki strings. And if you think you're too cool to join in the clapping, singing, and dancing, think again. This is a total-immersion experience. You’re not just at a restaurant; you're part of a living, breathing piece of Greek culture. It's infectious.
The Service: You know those places where the staff make you feel like an imposition? This is not one of those places. The staff here aren't just attentive; they're invested in your experience. They serve, but they also guide, inform, and entertain. It's not just a job for them; it's a performance where you’re the honoured guest. They'll remember your name, your favourite dish, and probably even the story about your dog you didn't realise you shared.
Look, I'm not throwing around superlatives for the fun of it. The White Tower is an oasis in a sea of mediocrity. It's a break from the norm and a reprieve from the daily grind. It will shatter your restaurant expectations and build them back up, higher than ever before.
So stop scrolling, stop pondering, and start planning. If you're not booking a table at White Tower after reading this, you're robbing yourself of a monumental experience. Go make that reservation. Now. Not tomorrow, not next week. Do it today. Trust me, you...
Read moreWalked in on a Friday night (past a staff member who sat outside smoking right by the front door 🤮) to a half-empty restaurant. Asked for a table and before even being seated, we were abruptly told that we'd have to 'finish up quicky as it was nearly closing time'. It was 20:25 and closing time was 22:00! Starters were decent, but presentation was sadly lacking and so was any kind of side salad or garnish. The main was nice, though not amazing. The meat was tender and the portion huge. The rice was very plain and bland, however, and the 'salad' was more like pre-cut coleslaw mix without the mayo. Dry, shredded stuff rather than the leafy, juicy Greek salad we expected. The major complaint of the night is the service received. As well as being told as soon as we walked in that we'd have to be quick - despite having a full hour and a half until closing time! - we had several staff members come to our table, first rushing us onto the main course while we were still eating out starters and then asking us whether we'd like a 'doggy bag' to take away our leftovers - asked while my partner was still chewing and had half her plate left. At this point it was still only around 9 o clock, but we could not have been made to feel less welcome and valued, or more rushed. Lastly, the basic furniture and decor, and very bright lighting, made the place feel more like a casual café than a restaurant. A new colour scheme and dimmed-down mood lighting would give a much nicer ambience, especially for evening times. In summary, we spent the best part of £100 on a 40-minutes of awkwardness, very aware that staff were just waiting for us to rush our meals, pay and leave. The absolute worst customer service we've ever received, anywhere. Also....cash only?...
Read moreI visited Llandudno for 3 days with my family, on the first day I looked for a place to eat for dinner, I found this place .... I was not impressed by the local, I was not impressed by the staff at the first. The waiter did not seem to he knows too much English so we were reluctant to talk to him, we received the food, we ordered Grill Mix, we tasted the lamb first, absolutely delicious and tender, then we tasted it all and they were very good, well seasoned. My husband saw that it was written on the poster outside as if I was going to eat at their place until 15:00 from Monday to Friday the menu of the day containing the soup of the day, type 2 and dessert that menu had a good price, and you ate on saturated, so as on the 2nd day in Llandudno we also went to them to eat, we were just come down from the cold mountain and their soup was welcome, our baby of 1 year and 3 months also ate and liked the food, the staff of was delighted to see us again (it's a family business), the waiter noticed us and we talked, so we found out that we have in Liverpool the city where we live 2 Greek restaurants, friends of theirs, s hes Sister were happy to see us again in their place and came to talk, on the 3rd day when we had to go home we decided to eat at their place again, even if we had to go on the road, the waiter's sister again she was nice, she came to talk to us and play with the baby. P. S. I usually don't leave my opinion on the site at the places where I eat but this place .... The staff was welcoming, warm people, and I liked that they talked to us now and that their food was...
