The point of a review for me is to be true and factual.. so here goes Chose this restaurant on review scores (4.6) and location to my hotel over 2 other 4.6 scoring restaurants. Walked through the door and manager immediately told us what was unavailable, one starter which swayed my wife now wasn’t available, muscles also unavailable- good to know but maybe this set the tone. Wife , daughter (12) & myself all “foodies”, had mixed reviews of our meals. Starters, minestrone huge and excellent (daughter), calamari (wife) not the best. Not cooked in hot enough oil, some chewy, coating left a powdery after taste, 5/10. Mine, aranchini with blue cheese centre.. good but different. Mains, (D) arrabbiata pasta good but hot, (w) carbonara with truffles, excellent. Mine veal in white wine sauce, shocking .... first one came in a cream sauce, not as menu described, sent back came back with no sauce, nice veal but not as the menu so sent back again. Served with green beans that were over cooked and not fit to be served. Focaccia with rosemary.. not a focaccia just a pizza base, tasted nice but ... Had a great bottle of Pinot and after feeding back to the waiter he returned with a complimentary bottle for the trouble.
So in summary, Not a great experience, no visit from the manger to explain , no visit from the chef, have I just experienced a bad day ...? Doesn’t matter it spoilt our...
Read more*UPDATE: Dined here 2 weeks ago for a meal with my boyfriend and we were disappointed with the taste of the food served. We ordered 2 starters - mozzarella dippers and breaded mushrooms which surprisingly got served pretty quickly after we’ve placed our orders. Fried mozzarella tasted like the cheap frozen ones which you get from the groceries store and heated in the oven. Breaded mushrooms were all right.
As for the mains, we ordered a carbonara which honestly tasted bland except for the bits that we had bacon. We had our pasta taken off the bill after commenting that we weren’t satisfied with the taste. Pizza was all right but personally thought there wasn’t really much to it... not enough cheese and tomato sauce.
I was really looking forward to enjoying the meal in romeo’s considering that my first meal here last year in December was a fantastic one. Unsure if there has been a change in the kitchen chefs but them food just tasted bland in general.
On a positive note, health and safety measures within the restaurant were very well managed with tables being arranged at a safe distance from one another and staffs wearing PPE.
Review from my visit on December 2019: Very authentic Italian food! Followed the waiter’s recommendation of food and was pleasantly surprised at the gastronomic meals that...

The bruschetta was more like a squashed tomato slapped onto a piece of garlic bread, lacking the freshness, texture, and flavour you’d expect. The tomato garlic bread was bland, with little to no seasoning or taste. As for the pasta, it was completely underwhelming — it tasted as though it had been boiled in plain water, with no depth or richness in the sauce.
Service-wise, there seemed to be one male waiter single-handedly carrying the entire team. He was clearly doing his best, but the rest of the staff were unhelpful, inattentive, and repeatedly ignored empty plates on our table, even when passing by more than once.
Overall, a poor dining experience that I wouldn’t recommend, especially given the many better Italian...
