Afters Sutton — Restaurant in London

Went there on my niece's birthday after a late dinner. The staff was so rude and refused to serve, because we went there 45 minutes before closing time. So we asked if we can have a take away of cone ice creams instead. The staff still refused and lied that the shop is already closed.It was clear that he did not wanted to wash any utensils again and he wanted to go home early. If the shop in already closed, then I did not understand why they had there doors open for customers. I felt really sorry for my niece, because i could not get any ice cream on her birthday. I do not know the name of this staff but he is a Chinese/Asian origin. I will never go to this ice cream parlour again. I complained about this issue to Afters headquarters so may times and they never responded. I would rather go to Kaspas who have better selections of ice cream and more of all polite...

Probably the worst experiences I've had. Going to a dessert shop is a treat for most of us but this place and the staff ruins it for you. Ordered desserts for my family for more than 50£. My brother wanted to taste two ice-cream samples but the staff were very rude and told him off. We brought this up to the manager and the other staff they told us off saying we shouldn't be visiting the place if we didn't like their service. I've worked in hospitality to know that this isn't how you treat customers this place looks like a family run business with all of their staff having the same rude attitude. Successful businesses are run by loyal paterons I'm afraid their store wouldn't have any with thier nasty attitude the quality of the ice-cream is below average for how overpriced the desserts are you're better off visiting other dessert places...

Awareness alert!!!

My kid and I were at "Afters" ice cream shop on Sutton High Street. My kid got a strawberry cup with a single scoop.

Suddenly, she spat out a piece of sharp plastic, claiming it came from the ice cream. Upon inspection, it indeed looked like a sharp piece of plastic, about the size of a large ant.

I showed it to the staff, and they apologized, mentioning that the sides of the strawberry ice cream holder were broken, so they store it in plastic bins instead of steel.

These shops charge a lot but couldnt afford steel holders for ice cream!!

I'm really shocked. It's concerning that they're using plastic bins instead of steel to store ice cream.

Let's be cautious and pass it on to your kids 🙏
