The waiter who came upto us was really nice and she helped us and im glad that after not coming to pizza express for a while, the service and the food hasnt changed. Ever since i was younger, this restaurant has been in my youth and i may still be young in others eyes but even if i leave sutton in the future, this restaurant will always be with me. Also, being able to come here as a younger generation and be able to connect with the staff has made this a wonderful experience. It makes me feel an overwhelming sense of positive emotions to be able to feel this sense of belonging in this restaurant. As a young girl within this restaurant, and with a friend with specific food intolerances and allergies i feel so privileged to be able to be dining in such a restaurant as sophisticated, diverse and inclusive as this one. I would like to thank each and every one of the staff for their kindness and support and how every single one of them have created such a lovely dining experience for us all. As you walk into the restaurant, the aroma of fresh ingredients is presented to you instantly. Its so delightful to be able to be greeted by such inclusive and kind staff. I cant describe the feeling of joy as it takes me back to when i was younger and i used to come to this restaurant for my birthdays and i used to feel such joy as it was like a tradition and to be able to come back here seeing the restaurant thriving makes me so happy. Their service has been impeccable as my dough balls have just arrived and i am so excited to be able to indulge into these which can take me on a spiritual journey that helps me to reflect upon my journey of life. Even having gluten free dough balls hasn't changed the experience as they taste absolutely exquisite. Read moreWe were out with our girls, planning to have a nice dinner to celebrate the start of the holiday, however I have to say that tonight’s experience has ruined our evening.
There was a pink shirt male staff (I believe he’s a manager) who served our table mainly, at the beginning it was kind of normal, but towards the middle of the dinner I ordered an Elderflower and Mint Sparkle, I was given a glass with just ice in it and a bottle of elderflower sparkle, I was wondering where the lemon and mint have gone, I had to ask another waitress to give me another glass with ice and lemon and mint.
Then we ordered 2 sets of kids meals, the 2 babyccinos were only half full when they arrived (again, served by the same pink shirt staff), imagine how disappointed the girls were.
And we paid with Tesco vouchers, (I asked him about how to use it at the beginning) and after we settled the bill, the table was cleared in no time, and we were being told (in an unfriendly manner) “we need the table, there are customers waiting”. I was really unimpressed and in disbelieve with what he said! First, there was an empty table of the same size right behind ours when we left, and there were no customers waiting while we left the restaurant! What kind of service was that? I wonder if that’s because we used the Tesco vouchers so we got this unacceptable service?! The bolognese sauce was of lack of flavour, so bland! I added more salt but still didn’t help much. The pasta was undercooked, some of them to hard to chew. The chicken wings tasted not nice. Grill prawn but tasted like boiled prawn in the sauce.
The staff firstly forgot about my drink order. Ok, it’s fine. I complained about my pasta but the explanation from the staff wasn’t satisfy me as she said the pasta was hard because they were gluten free. So how come some of them were soft , and some of them was so hard ?!?? I asked for my bill but seem like staff ignoring our table. There were 4 staff and one manager and wasn’t busy. There was only 5 tables at that time. I had to asked twice, then the staff gave me a “ paper” , didn’t even put it on a plate . When I had my bill I realised I missed our desserts as I ordered 2 kids meals which included desserts . I asked staff, they brought us the desserts and gave me a different “ paper” with different price, more expensive without explain anything. I was so upset , I called the manager. The staff treated us so bad. The manager offered us discount but honestly I didn’t need a discount. I just wanted to tell him how badly I felt.
