This is a fantastic 'old-school' cafe in Chalton Street, located virtually opposite the RMT's headquarters and a 1-miniute walk from the Rocket Pub situated on the same street near Euston station. I have been eating my lunch grub at this cafe for several years whenever I am studying at the British Library - also a couple of minutes walking distance from this cafe. This is a really friendly family-run eatery that prides itself on turning around tasty and generously- portioned fry-up grub. or specialist sandwiches with a wide range of appetizing fillings, that are produced within remarkably good time without compromising on quality! The warm customer service is not diminished, however, if you simply pop in at any time in the weekday or on a Saturday morning for a cup of coffee or pot of tea with a light snack. You will always receive their customer service with a smile! This quality cafe's prices are reasonably pitched, given how really expensive eating out or ordering a take-away meal is in this part of central London. Like so many of their loyal long-term customers, I will certainly continue to pop into this cafe for my satisfying portions of lunch grub, and I recommend that you too try out this place if you are ever in the Kings Cross/Euston area and stuck for somewhere nice to eat! I suspect that if you do so, you will be hooked on their food and always be keen to pay a return visit for yet...
Read moreWe had no expectations when we patronised this little cafe but we were pleasantly surprised by the food, service, hospitality & ambience.
Now dont get me wrong; this place is no instagram worthy place for influencers, with no queues and not located at a posh locale like Soho and the like.
However, the pricing was very reasonable, food portions were generous and very delicious. (As delicious as a typical English Breakfast can be!)
What we found really endearing was also the hospitality and service shown to us (and kids!) by owner John and his Chef Paul. They were very attentive and gave us a very positive experience throughout our visits there.
Yes it was that good that we went there 3 times in a row to have our breakfast!
As tourists from Singapore, it was also nice to watch them interact and banter with their regulars. That positively rounded off our âEnglishâ experience!
Do not come to this place if you expect a high-class environment or to be wowed by Michelin Star cuisine.
But if you want to have a great start to your morning with a hearty breakfast that is not only kind to your wallet but also feeds your soul, do drop by for a visit!
Highly...
Read moreI was searching for a cooked breakfast/brunch close by, and once I saw this (on Google Maps) I just had to go for it...
Well, truth be told I live in Pinner i.e. in North-West London, thus was a little baffled in first awareness of its name (then explained to me). I must say the food was exactly what I was looking for! I had the 'Pinner Café' cooked breakfast (which comes with the option of tea or coffee) and was very satisfied with it, essentially relative to value too. The service wasn't long at all. All elements were cooked to satisfaction, and the social atmosphere felt traditional with seemingly familiar others coming in and passing by, as I sat outside (in the mild, sunny weather) :)
I very much recommend coming here, with friends and family or just by yourself. Cash is a more preferred option by such smaller businesses, which they would...
