Ammachi Idly & Dosa - A Hidden South Indian Gem in Harrow! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ammachi Idly & Dosa in Harrow, and I must say, this place is an absolute treat for South Indian food lovers! The restaurant has undergone a recent renovation, and the ambiance is both cozy and modern, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed meal. The service, while a bit time-consuming, was worth every minute. Each dish we ordered was freshly prepared and served piping hot. A special shout-out to Pradeebha, who not only gave us a warm welcome but truly enhanced our experience. She listened carefully to our preferences and gave us spot-on recommendations that we thoroughly enjoyed. Her attention to detail and friendly demeanor made us feel right at home. Now, onto the food – we ordered a range of dishes including 1. Filter Coffee - 10/10 2. Masala Tea - 10/10 3. Upma - 10/10 4. Idli - 10/10 5. Masala Dosa - 7/10 6. Pongal - 7/10 Every single dish was exceptional! The flavors were spot-on, the presentation was lovely, and the portion sizes were just right. The food had that authentic South Indian taste that’s often hard to find, and the highlight was the array of chutneys they served – simply divine! What I also loved was the variety on the menu. The restaurant offers a wide selection of South Indian vegetarian dishes, so there’s something for everyone. The pricing is incredibly fair, and they even have offers running throughout the day, which makes it an even better deal. The restaurant itself was spotless and well-maintained, adding to the overall positive experience. It’s undoubtedly one of the best South Indian spots in town. No need to make the trip all the way to Wembley anymore – Ammachi Idly & Dosa is right here with its authentic flavors and variety. Trust me, rather than ordering online, it’s worth visiting in person to soak in the full experience. If you’re craving genuine South Indian food in a welcoming atmosphere, this place is a must-visit!

So we went there for the first time and the experience was bad and disappointing. First they gave us Medu Vada and each vada was re-cooked kind of so vada were so oily and we had to use tissues to remove excessive oils. Then the team saw it and the owner came and offered us extra vada with the dosa plate saying sorry for the early mistake. Dosa plates were okay, but the offered vada weren’t cooked properly (That’s what I have posted in the photos) Mango lassi was okay too. After we finished plates, the owner came and apologised. I don’t think an apology would make anything better, because what i believe is that the first impression is matters. If not neither customer would come again nor they’d recommend the place to someone.

I had panner masal dosa, noodles, panniyaram and Rose milk. Out of which the panner dosa and panniyaram was outstanding. Friendly staff, so kind and polite. The restaurant staff were from South India, so the food was perfect south Indian style. Which I love most. The taste blend with right amount of masala with correct quantity of hot pepper 🌶️. Also the staff/chef is flexible. I asked to reduce the spice and veggies in the noodles they did the same - which is good that we can customise food tasted if required. As of today they don't have rice/meals even lunch we have to go for tiffin items like dosa, etc as shown in the menu (photos added) Spend 31 pounds for a family (2 adults + 2 kids)

If you are in search of an authentic South Indian culinary experience, look no further than "Ammachi Idly and Dosa." This hidden gem of a restaurant is a paradise for idli and dosa enthusiasts, serving up heavenly taste with every dish on their menu. From the moment you step in, the inviting aroma of freshly cooked idlis and dosas will make your mouth water with anticipation.

The star attractions of this delightful eatery are, of course, their idlis and dosas. Soft, fluffy, and perfectly steamed, the idlis are a pure delight. They simply melt in your mouth and leave you craving for more. The dosas are equally impressive, thin and crispy on the edges with a delectable golden-brown color, making them a delight to the senses. Each bite feels like a tribute to South Indian culinary traditions.

No idly or dosa is complete without its perfect companion, and Ammachi's chutneys are indeed showstoppers. The coconut chutney is rich, creamy, and full of flavor, making it an ideal accompaniment to the idlis and dosas. The tomato chutney, on the other hand, strikes the perfect balance between tangy and spicy, adding an extra dimension of taste to the meal. And let's not forget the soul-soothing sambar, bursting with the goodness of lentils and vegetables, elevating the entire dining experience to new heights.

However, what truly sets "Ammachi Idly and Dosa" apart is the outstanding service provided by their staff, particularly Shubham. From the moment you enter, Shubham greets you with a warm smile and a genuine enthusiasm that immediately puts you at ease. His exceptional ability to connect with customers and understand their cravings is truly commendable. Whether you're a seasoned regular or a first-time visitor, Shubham goes the extra mile to ensure that your dining experience is nothing short of fabulous.

Shubham's friendly and approachable demeanor makes him easy to interact with, as he gladly offers recommendations and suggests delightful combinations to enhance your meal. His dedication to ensuring customer satisfaction is evident in every interaction, making each visit to "Ammachi Idly and Dosa" a memorable and enjoyable one.

In conclusion, "Ammachi Idly and Dosa" is a culinary haven for those seeking an authentic taste of South India. With their mouthwatering idlis and dosas, heavenly chutneys, and exceptional service, it's a dining experience that leaves a lasting impression. Whether you're a lover of South Indian cuisine or just looking for a delightful meal, this restaurant is a must-visit. And be sure to say hello to Shubham when you visit – his hospitality will undoubtedly leave you feeling like a...

I have been visiting this cafe for the last few days and I ordered the mini Thali, the Thali is not mini it has 8 coloums with different beautiful organised food coloums, including rice and chapati.

One or two occasions the food standards dropped and they issued me complimentary dishe under failure of consumer goods and services act, thank you management.

However, we since have a issue with VAT being charged but company has no VAT number or printed on the receipt, the staff are not aware of this issue and we are waiting to find out why.

Update as of 20.11.2020, the company has now updated their records and fixed the vat issue. They no longer charge VAT, therefore VAT registration is no longer applicable. A beautiful smiling girl explained to me the error on the till, and apolgised for the error on the receipt. I am satisfied with the customer service on my visit, however, I did explain, that no manager contacted me therefore more attention needs to be applied to customer service.

The food was a little bland on this visit, and cold, so on my next visit will advise on the quality of food to...
