Arrived with the family to an empty restaurant just gone 10pm. Asked the waitress if they were open and could we sit down. She politely acknowledged us and offered us any table. She dutifully brought over poppadoms without mango chutney. A waiter offered to take our order, I was confused with my brother's starter order as there was 2 similar items so I asked for clarification from him, problem solved. Waiter took the mains order, clearly we required assistance and recommendations, "what's nice with this and what would you recommend with that", he wasn't very forthcoming in suggestions. Waiter read the order back to us at 100 miles per hour, unsure whether it was in order of food selection or each individuals full meal. Starters arrived, 4... but there's 3 of us. I said to the waiter what's this, he informed me it's mine, well I have my starter here and I don't eat meat, he replied well that's what u was discussing and that's what you said you ordered and I read the order back to you. Now logic would dictate if there's 3 people and you've written down 4 starters and everyone ordered a main as well, if I was the waiter I've clearly messed up their clarification is required. No, our waiter was still arguing the toss. Ok mate! We will keep the starter neither of us clearly want or need.
1 starter dish specifically stated 10 prawns, wasn't given 10 prawns. The samosas were rock hard having just been fried a little too long.
Mains was offered during the eating of starter, hmmm ok I guess we will have it now, starters not fully cleared away before mains were put down. Still waiting on a tea. Had to remind waiter missing rice. Food was bland, it had about as much authenticity as my poor attempt of Indian cuisine at home.
Half way during the meal our waiter received a demotion, he began stacking the chairs on all the other tables around us! So to clarify that means, lifting the chair that's been on the floor all day gathering dust and dirt from floor height to the height of the table whereby we we're currently eating our meal.
Then, to make the experience even more interesting our demoted waiter started to sweep the floor TOWARDS our table!
As you can imagine at this point you don't want to eat in the restaurant because clearly they don't want you there.
I asked the manager if he wanted us to leave why he allowed our waiter to stack chairs and sweep floors, he stated no but it's past 11, so because your staff finish at 11 we should just continue eating in the dust and dirt from the day!? His reply was we turned up after 10:30 and shouldn't have eaten in. No we didn't mate, you should know what time we turned up because the place is empty AND you didn't inform us it's takeaway only which wouldn't have been a problem.
If you're looking for a polite, respectful service, whereby the customer is treated accordingly, the food is made with TLC and the manager cares about his customers (to be fair he did apologise, talk can be cheap however...), don't bother, there's another taste of Lahore restaurant in harrow which is always busy, has great customer service and superb food. The reason we chose this was for nostalgia, we used to frequent here many many years ago. Clearly management has changed. We now know why it was empty! Dont waste your...
Read moreI had an outstanding experience at Kebabish Harrow and felt it was well worth sharing. I ordered the biryani and lamb tikka, and both were absolutely top-notch. The biryani was fragrant, rich in flavour, and cooked to perfection – not too oily, with every bite bursting with spices. The lamb tikka was tender and succulent, grilled just right with a lovely smoky finish. You can really tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve.
What made the visit even more special was the exceptional service. Mandeep and Sagar were both incredibly attentive and welcoming. They made sure everything was spot-on from the moment I walked in. Mandeep was friendly and professional, and Saad added to the warm atmosphere with his polite and genuine manner. It’s rare to find staff who are not only efficient but also make you feel personally looked after.
With such delicious food and standout service, Kebabish Harrow has definitely become a go-to for me. Highly recommended if you're after great flavours and an experience that feels personal...
Read moreWe ordered a lamb Nihari, Chicken masala, naans and mango lassi. The Nihari was excellent with the naans. The chicken masala was disappointing as it had too much cream in the sauce and not enough masala. The mango lassi was good but quantity was not. I will come again but this time have a word with the chef before ordering. Sorroundings pretty basic. Update : 7 Nov. 25 Tried again. Ordered Nihari, Chicken tikka masala, Bhindi and Chickpea sabzi, with Naan and plain palao. Unfortunately the Nihari must have been made from a frozen piece of lamb shank, as it was cold around the bone, but piping hot sauce. Sent it back to be recooked. It came back with souch salt added that it was uneatable. They have no clue about cooking vegetables. It seems same old sauce is used for any type of veg. The Okra was limp with huge pieces of onions added and the chickpeas drowned in garlic tomatoes. Chef is clueless. Will not be eating here again. Rating reduced...
