The Best HWLS夫妻肺片 in London ( so far )
friends or relatives visiting quite often , so St Pancras is my usual spot. Don’t like that area because it’s too busy and easy to get luggages roll over my feet.
Their train delays ( as expected), found a restaurant just opposite of the station, oriental bamboo decorations, em….. wonder how authentic the food can be.
Soup Pulled-Noodle with Beef牛肉湯拉麵
Everything was good enough, but the taste of the soup has no depth, plain-soy-sauce-plus-salt soup, a waste.
Temperature ✅ Noodle texture 💯 very good quality, well-pulled, well-boiled, perfectly chewy Beef 👌🏻 Veggie ✅ Soup ❎ use more heart to cook one please
Btw, pls stop saying all soup noodle is Ramen拉麵,Ra拉Men麵,ramen means pulled-noodle , only the noodle that chef makes the noodle by keep pulling until it became noodle that’s Ramen ( Mandarin Chinese is La Mian , Cantonese is Laai Min ) Japanese adopted this food culture from ancient China in case you don’t know or ignore to know )
Husband & Wife Lung Slices 夫妻肺片
This famous Si Chuan cuisine has no lung at all but don’t know why they named it like that, guess it was designed to wish for a good ending in marriage :p
Well, this dish here could be THE BEST I ever had in London 👏🏻
How good ?
✅ 💯 The look is amazingly fresh, I’ve eaten some were not fresh just by the dull colour.
✅ 💯 The size of all slices were big, so generous, other restaurants normally slice them as thin as a paper, as small as a robber, here are all hugely cut.
✅ 💯 It’s a cold dish, the temperature was just right.
✅ 💯 The basic combination of two main ingredients Beef Slice + Beef Tripe Slice , especially the tripes, only master can handle it well, sooooo hard to cook just right, not under cook and definitely not over. This chef just perfectly nailed it !
👏🏻✅ 💯 The most amazing thing of this dish they made was The Sauce, spicy enough but not burning spicy, clear chill colour but taste so complex in a gooooooood way, I took a closer look to see what ingredients were actually inside the sauce, I couldn’t, it looks just a simple chill sauce.
I had to be creative, I tried to get rid of the mediocre soup, I finished it in a sec, then put the whole HWLS on the top of the noodles , stirred them till well mixed.
Voilà , the best Lo Min ( Stirred Noodle without soup ) has invented 😝👏🏻
So yummy next time I will just order a plain noodles...

Sichuan beef shank is beautifully seasoned with aromatic chili oil, garlic, cilantro, and a little spiciness. Flavorful and not overwhelming. The layer of shredded cucumber is lovely (I was worried about skipping my veggies tonight).
Dim sum platter. I agree with other comments that it can be better presented not only for the price but also for self-esteem. (Perhaps the dim sum and cold dish chefs have very different personalities and aesthetics (´・ω・`)) But they do taste better than their appearance. Siu Mai is filled with bouncy pork and shrimp and the dumplings are filled with juicy veggies (though not properly sealed— Fun guo style crystal skin is hard to work with ;)
The Malaysian lady is really friendly and makes me feel at home.
Pricy but the location is unbeatable. Might stop by again to get some simple hearty food and maybe some larger dishes ^^ —

Authenticity is meaningless. As with all Chinese restaurants, with the large menu, you have to pick wisely and expect surprises.
My favorite tonight is actually beef in sour soup 酸湯肥牛, although instead of sichuan flavored, it’s actually Tom Yum based. Surprising but tasty.
Sichuan chili seafood is not spicy at all, imagine General Tsao. Not bad.
Morning glory is fresh but can do with more bean curds.
Singaporean and Malaysian fried rice definitely look better than the white egg fried rice. 😅 My friends say they are all alright though. And the beef ho fun looks nice. Lanzhou beef noodle actually has quite a decent amount of beef, more than the original.
Food is quite oily in general, but mostly around average— nothing bad.
It’s starting to get busy at around 8 on...
Read morePlaced an order with a man at the disk. I repeated my request I explained I would like one house special with crispy noodles and one chicken chow mein. He put two house special on my bill which I didn’t check which I am partly responsible for however only when I got home did I notice that. I placed a call and spoke to a lady who said bring back the item and we will exchange it. I mentioned to the gentleman that there’s a price difference he said” on this occasion we can’t but next time we can refund you” which absolutely no sense. He went on to argue that he repeated the order which I did correct him. As a person that doesn’t not eat pork or beef I am very specific with my ordering. As regular customer who used deliveroo rather than go into the shop this was distasteful and unnecessary especially as the amount to refund was little however I am paying for what I ordered not what I didn’t order. To add to insult he throw’s away the wrong order into the bin I front of me. In the world we live in food is a luxury and customer service skills goes a long way. As I believe there’s two ways to deal with the issue at hand which is explain in a calm (as this man got irritated and started to raise his voice so I walked away) that it’s not possible as my till doesn’t allow such transactions so here is a coke or something of the value. Second option is to advise me to come back when it can be done. Instead I am writing a review about bad...
