Belmeis — Restaurant in London

I wouldn’t recommend this bar due to their questionable drink-serving practices. We ordered drinks, only to later realize they had been serving us doubles without asking. It’s basic customer service to confirm whether someone wants a single or a double, especially since pricing and alcohol content differ.

One of us was on antibiotics and had set a personal limit of two drinks, but because the bar automatically served doubles, they unknowingly ended up having four. When we raised this issue, the staff claimed it was their “standard practice”—which is completely unacceptable.

This bar should never make assumptions about how much alcohol a customer wants. This feels deceptive and irresponsible. Be cautious if you choose to drink here.

Nice-looking cocktail bar with excellent decor and good vibe inside. The female server was really friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, when I visited on Friday 21st March, there was only one bartender, so we had to wait around 20 minutes for cocktails for our table!! Unfortunately, when I went to pay the bill, the server told me I had been charged for a normal mojito, even though I had asked for a virgin mojito . I don't drink alcohol and had the male bartender had even shown me where the mocktails were on the menu while taking my order. It looks like he made a mistake with the drink and gave me an alcohol-based one!! Unfortunately, I was driving home that day, so it made it quite awkward for me to get back. If I had been abstaining from alcohol for religious or health reasons, this would have caused a lot more problems, and there needs to be more attention to detail with this type of thing and...

I love this place! It has just added to the already rich character of Muswell Hill nightlife but whereas the village is already rich in its choice of restaurants with good bars and cocktail lists, we now have a great bar which also has a small but high quality food menu. If you've never heard of or eaten anything cooked on the Big Green Egg then you have to try Belmeis. If you have then you know what I'm talking about. And to top it all they have live music twice a week - Sundays and Wednesdays. Winner!
