I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kachori Restaurant, and I must say that it was a delightful experience from start to finish. This establishment not only offers a wide variety of mouthwatering Indian cuisine but also boasts an impressive cocktail menu that perfectly complements the flavors of the food. Here's my detailed review of the food and cocktails at Kachori Restaurant: Food: The menu at Kachori Restaurant offers an extensive selection of Indian dishes that cater to various palates and preferences. From traditional favorites to modern twists, there is something for everyone. I was particularly impressed by the impeccable flavors and presentation of each dish. The Kachoris, after which the restaurant is named, were a standout. These crispy, deep-fried pastries filled with delectable fillings like spiced potatoes, lentils, and paneer were bursting with flavor. The balance of spices was perfect, and the accompanying chutneys added an extra layer of deliciousness. Moving on to the main courses, I tried their Butter Chicken and it was exceptional. The chicken was tender, and the creamy tomato-based gravy was rich and flavorful. The aromatic spices used in this dish were perfectly balanced, creating a truly satisfying culinary experience. The restaurant also offers a variety of vegetarian options, and I tried their Palak Paneer. The spinach puree was velvety smooth, and the paneer cubes were cooked to perfection. The combination of these two ingredients resulted in a delectable dish that left me wanting more. Cocktails: Kachori Restaurant's cocktail menu is an impressive compilation of innovative concoctions that pair exceptionally well with the flavors of Indian cuisine. The mixologists at Kachori have truly mastered the art of mixology, creating unique and refreshing beverages. One cocktail that stood out was the "Spicy caiprioska Overall Experience: The dining experience at Kachori Restaurant was outstanding. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, attentive staff, and impeccable service added to the overall enjoyment. The attention to detail in both the food and cocktails truly set this establishment apart. The prices at Kachori Restaurant are reasonable considering the high quality of the food and cocktails. The portions were generous, ensuring that no one leaves hungry. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a special dining experience, Kachori Restaurant is an excellent choice. In conclusion, I highly recommend Kachori Restaurant to anyone looking for a culinary adventure. The diverse menu, flavorful dishes, and creative cocktails will leave your taste buds satisfied. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or simply looking to try something new, Kachori Restaurant is a must-visit...

After reading that the head chef was previously posted at Banares, we were excited to go try out the food here. Hope to give this review as honestly as possible as an Indian who knows her food.

We ordered the Mattar Kachori (with truffle) - the pastry was chewy, there was hardly any filling, and the taste wasn’t great, couldn’t taste any truffle either. Had many kachoris in my life and paid £9 for two very disappointing ones with hardly any filling in them. From my experience kachoris are meant to be stuffed with filling , these were half hollow and with no special or standout taste.

We also got the chicken wings which were actually quite nice.

The poppadoms chutneys were tasty.

For mains we had the lamb shank nihari. The portions for what we paid for were tiny. One lamb shank and hardly any salaan or ‘sauce’ or ‘curry’ - which is supposed to be full of flavour however flavours seemed to be watered down - not what a nihari should be. The quality and portion size of this for £21 was really disappointing, and food got cold on the table really fast.

The achari chicken was actually really tasty. Tangy spicy and full of flavour.

The Lacchha paratha we ordered 5 portions and were disappointed as they were hard and almost like crackers. We expected flaky and crispy but with a bit of stretchiness to them but they were quite rigid.

The Biriyani was ok but again the choice of rice was different to what usually is used for a proper biriyani.

The service was good, they were attentive and quick to bring food out and efficient, but might also explain why the food got cold so quickly.

Overall a little disappointed with the food. Expected food made with heart and authenticity but it seems that the unique presentation of the dishes is the selling point here however the flavours and portions are nothing to shout about. Was also pretty dark in there and hard to see what we were eating.

I’ll stick to the restaurants in Tooting and Wembley for authentic south Asian...

Our Recent Visit to the Hidden Gem Kachori - Elephant Park

We had the pleasure of discovering a marvellous Indian restaurant tucked away in an unassuming side street near Elephant Park last Friday. Despite the lack of obvious signage from the main road, we are so glad we didn't miss out on the culinary delights awaiting within the quaint establishment of Kachori.

It was a pleasant day so we opted to dine outside, the only distraction being the construction which was not really a big issue. The menu showcased an array of regional specialities, each dish clearly crafted with great care and expertise by the talented punjabi chef Brinder Narula. Being a punjabi, the flavours were spot on and the spices were just how we would expect so no disappointment with the food.

From the popadoms and delicious chutneys through to the dessert, and OMG the salted caramel peanut butter parfait is to die for, everything was amazing and flavourful. The cocktails were great.

The chef is to be commended wholeheartedly for their astounding ability to coax out such remarkable flavours from seemingly simple ingredients. Each forkful was a delicious testament to their true mastery in spice blending and balancing the bold with the subtle so harmoniously.

The decor inside exuded a warm, inviting ambiance The service was attentive yet unobtrusive, ensuring we felt thoroughly welcomed and appreciated as guests.

My only suggestion would be the addition of some beer on tap, as a refreshing draught would make for the perfect accompaniment to such flavourful fare. London is saturated with som any dining options, Kachori is a great find and worth a visit for lovers of authentic Indian cuisine.

Despite the location being out of town at Elephant Park, this gem is worth seeking...
