Honestly found this pretty disappointing after seeing some great reviews and checking it out for dinner. It's a decent place to drink by the looks of it and a nice bar atmosphere, but the food and service for a meal pretty lacking.
Told to order the whole menu of small plate skewers which we did, they took quite a while to get started then came out one little plate at a time maybe 15 mins apart like a tasting menu or a sequence of bar snacks not a meal, with some were forgotten altogether until reminded at the end.
Lighting is very dim such that you can't really see what you're eating, ok for a bar but for a fancy small plates place being able to see what's in front of you is an important part of the deal.
The skewers I'd say are ambitious but don't really live up to what they're attempting. Chef clearly likes to play with strong flavours (salt, heat, smoke, umami) which I'm generally very down for, but here it comes out haphazard and poorly calibrated, like most of the plates had verging-on-unpleasantly too much of at least one of these elements, especially the salt (and I see I'm not the only one mentioning this on the reviews). Maybe helps sell drinks as a bar snacks? Probably the best thing was the heart skewers, very tasty although spoiled by russian-roulette jalapeno pieces between them that blew my mouth off (and I'm not shy of spice).
Hope this was just a one-off bad night as I really wanted to...
Read moreAbsolutely astounding and incredible. If I had to choose a favorite from just the first 3 Star Wars films it would definitely be this one, with its great mystery, musical score, characters, intense battles, astounding effects, wonderful locations and all else this film has to offer this masterpiece is yet another Star Wars work of art. Samuel L. Jackson, Frank Oz and Christopher Lee still do a very commendable and incredible job at their roles as Master Windu, Master Yoda and Count Dooku, all other actors were just as amazing that I can't even find the words. This film is so intriguing because it's exactly how we see one of the most iconic Disney villains ever come to be and if you ask me seeing how Darth Vader came to be is both very intriguing and pretty heartbreaking at the same time, but it's also still very intriguing as we see how Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia came to be as well. Watch this movie and see for yourself who the real culprit behind the war and the real Sith Lord really is, how Darth Vader came to be and what became of Luke and Leia after their birth, if you like it than excellent and keep on going because the excitement and surprises don't stop there, but if you don't like it than no worries because you can't please everyone. 10/10...
Read moreWent for dinner on opening night. The atmosphere was great, and the restaurant was full. The place was interestingly decorated with different eras and themes. -very nostalgic. Small plates made the meal feel communal and friendly. It could be fun to have some old board games or card games to complete the theme. The toilet is through the kitchen so I questioned if I was going the right way, but it was fun to g through the kitchen and see what goes on in the background.
The food had great flavours. - could potentially be useful to have a relatively bland side dish such as potatoes or chips, which could be used almost as a palette cleanser between flavours.
Overall a really pleasant evening which was also very reasonably priced. I’ll 100% revisit for the banoffee...
