Nestled along Swains Lane, just a stone's throw from the serene beauty of Hampstead Heath, Bistro Laz is a hidden gem that beckons with its inviting ambience and delectable Mediterranean cuisine. From the moment you step into their outdoor dining area, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of relaxation and warmth. What's more, their dog-friendly policy ensures that furry companions are just as welcome to bask in the experience. I recently indulged in their chicken salad, and it was a symphony of flavors. Each bite was a testament to the chef's mastery, with fresh ingredients and vibrant seasonings dancing on the palate. The portion size was generous, satisfying both hunger and cravings without overwhelming. The staff at Bistro Laz epitomize hospitality, greeting guests with genuine smiles and attentive service. Their warmth adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience, making you feel like a cherished regular from the moment you arrive. In terms of pricing, Bistro Laz offers great value for the quality of food and service provided. The bill was in line with my expectations, making it a feasible option for regular visits or special occasions alike. One delightful aspect of dining at Bistro Laz is the occasional spotting of local celebrities, adding a touch of excitement to an already memorable meal. In summary, Bistro Laz on Swains Lane is a must-visit destination for lovers of Mediterranean cuisine. With its inviting ambience, mouthwatering dishes, friendly staff, and dog-friendly outdoor seating, it's a culinary oasis that promises an unforgettable experience with each visit.

An accidental find for us, and an amazing one. Initially for the red brick and trace of historic signs for a Hampstead's Tea Room. Having walked around Highgate Cemetary, we saw this place and were intrigued, by day. When we passed again, as the night was drawing in, this place came ALIVE. Authentic food, generous portions: we had the mixed grill. The menu is Mediterranean, especially, specifically Turkish. So much more food to try...a young family getting pizzas were really happy and accommodated for... Other people drank beer, others tried more exotic and seafood fare... We drank a bottle of the Turkish Red Wine.. So good we had another. Amazing deserts. Apple Pie and Ice Cream...Baklava even better. We, and customers of all shapes and sizes, were served by caring, handsome (!) polite and well-humoured waiting staff. A little warmer and we'd have been sitting outside. Cooler, and I am sure that the place glows with warmth, with simple decore. It was like snatching a Mediterranean Holiday for a few hours...a chance to relax and rest and natter in these uncertain times. Please support them! We want to return with a group of friends during our next visit to London!

I have to be honest that my friend and I are unhappy with the food and it’s definitely over priced. As seen from the receipt, a mixed grill without service charge is £26.45, and check the picture, that’s what I got. Considering how the Mediterranean food is normally served, its supposed to be juicy, with salad, and a good portion which reflects the price. The meat was very average, the chicken was quite tough and lamb was not juicy either. It’s very disappointing, and we won’t come back again. (PS: I assume the right one was chicken, and the one right to it was lamb, but they were very average. Though appreciate the service, one piece of tomato, all the small pieces of meat and that bit of rice, for the average taste, for over 26 quids, this is below the standard.)

I am not one to write reviews. When I do, it is usually because my experience was exceptional, and I want others to enjoy as well as those whom deserve to reap their rewards. Tonight I shall not be composing such glowing pr.

My lovely boyfriend, his brother and I went to this cosy Mediterranean restaurant having once had a delicious lunch. I was really looking forward to our visit. We had our starters, mine being king prawns in a yummy tomato sauce. It was so good that I requested bread to sop it all up. Then for the main course. While the boys shoveled their octopus and pizza I felt carnivorous and ordered the mixed grill. It was so tasty I did my wiggle dance. You know, the really childish thing you do when you get your favourite meal or a Twister on a hot summers day. I got to my last piece of grilled chicken and was more than disappointed that it wasn't cooked through. Summoning the waitress over I told her of this, reminding her of a little thing called salmonella poisoning. She offered to either get me another piece this time cooked or to take something off the bill. Of course I opted for the reduction on the bill. I push the offending meat away, finish the little grilled beef and we got our bill. Now here is the wet fish slap in the face. My bf's brother asked me to check the bill and I notice that there is only £1 taken off. We call our server over. Explain that we are not happy. I have worked in restaurants and bars for about 5 years so I know what is expected in this situation. I tell her so. You either take the offending meal off, comp drinks or take a minimum of 10% off the total. She had the cheek to say "I don't know what you expect of me. We're losing money. I can take another pound off ". Are you freaking kidding me! You feed me under cooked food and I'm supposed to have sympathy for you losing £13. I am ready to kick off. But my fella calms me and says write a letter to them and his brother states his displeasure while handing over his card. Now I understand where the boys are coming from, generally of a peaceful nature. I, however am not so forgiving in such matters. I will not send a letter to management I am warning all those who dare cross their threshold. For the love of all that is good and tasty in the world save yourself! The place completely let themselves down and ruined my digestive system. Damn shame. You almost had...
