First visit to this restaurant. We were warmly and professionally greeted upon arrival. The layout and furnishings create a sophisticated ambiance, enhanced by the smartly turned-out staff. However, don't worry about sophistication connoting chilly; the warmth emanating from all of the staff was noteworthy and really made one feel at home. At one point I accidentally knocked my fork off the table. By the time I had picked it up, a staff member was alongside me and discretely replacing it with a clean fork. Attention to detail with no fuss. The seating was very comfortable and the glassware etc were in keeping with the feel of the restaurant. My daughter and I both decided to go for the three-course set meal costing £23.95 each. I had Langoustines for my starter, the Gourmet Burger for my main, and cheesecake for dessert. My daughter had aramcini as a starter, Chicken Tagliatelle for her main and profiteroles for dessert. We both thoroughly enjoyed our choices and the meal really was fantastic value for money; I was very much sated when we left. There were a variety of diners in terms of group size and relationships and everyone seemed to be having a good time. There is a toilet available on the same level as the dining area for those that are in a wheelchair or cannot manage stairs with separate toilets for men and women in the basement. If like me you are very tall, mind your head on your way down, but once you get to the toilet there is no problem with headroom and as far as the men's toilet goes, all is clean, fresh and entirely in keeping with the rest of the restaurant. I assume that the female toilet is similar. Overall, whether it's a family meal, a group of friends, or a romantic meal, I think this is a lovely restaurant that will provide you with a lovely meal, your spirits lifted and your bank balance reasonably intact😊 Addendum: Paid a second visit and chose from the set Sunday lunch menu. Roast Lamb and Roast beef were excellent choices. Apple and blackberry crumble was delicious. A nice coffee to finish. Overall, we had a very...
Read moreI went to branded to enjoy a family meal with my two kids 2year old and 6 month old along with my wife. I was greeted with a warm welcome and guided where we could sit. I ordered drinks and food for us. Everything was going well when before the manager came over to us and she said can you tell your child to keep the noise down we have other guests. I was flabbergasted. It’s not easy have a daughter whose crying but it wasn’t a lot and my son was sitting down it wasn’t like there running around causing mischief. When she said that I looked around there was 3 other tables so they wasn’t exactly very busy. A very unnecessary comment to make which ruined our experience. I have been to plenty of restaurants and never been approached like that in a patronising way.my wife looked at me and said did she just say that. I found it deeply rude and disrespectful. The waitress serving us was lovely she was patient and understanding. But the managers poor level of understanding and judgment significantly ruined our experience. I wanted to leave straight away but my wife said no let’s stay now to eat. The food was good I must but it’s the overall experience which makes it enjoyable. Can’t have good food but poor communication skills. She should have assessed the room and saw there were 4 table booked and left us to enjoy the branded.I really didn’t want to pay the service charge based off principle but I paid vowing never to return. My advice is if your with family and especially young children don’t go there. I do hope the hierarchy see this review and get her to change her way of thinking when people go with...
Read moreWe went as a work leaving party , boss paying a lot for food , we said we would like to pay for our own drinks at the bar , flat out no we don't do that because it's a weekend and that they would do a separate alcohol tab , we explained we would not like to do that as some are drinkers and other on soft so do not want to be pay for others !! After a bit of backward and forwards they agreed to allow us one drink order each at the table and then would come and let us pay individually, great until they tried to surcharge each drink , yes I refused the surcharge, let's move in to the steak !!!' Tasty but so chewy and lets get to the lovely desert hmmmm banana caramel slice with custard , where was the banana , was not expecting a slice of plain sponge , with what can only be described as un inspiring banana whiff where is the caramel ? Oh yes that smidge of sauce so lovingly drizzled over it and and smeared on the plate , nothing banana slice about it , it was a boring bit of sponge with custard , when leaving the staff lined up like a line of miserable fish , will not go again .the atmosphere was very odd and not a very nice vibe at all , the staff could all do with a bit of training in ...
