When I asked to use the student discount, the cashier printed the bill at the same time. After printing the bill, he explained that I couldn’t use the student discount because he already printed the bill. “You need to tell me you want to use the student discount before I print the bill. Now that the bill has already been printed, you can’t use it.” He didn’t even ask me for that before he printed the bill and I already say I want use the student discount and he can print another bill with student discount but he didn’t do this! I found this excuse completely absurd and far-fetched!
Regarding service: After my friend and I queued up and sat down at a table ready to order, the server came over and suddenly asked us to change seats, directing us to sit in a dark corner instead. I figured it wasn’t a big deal since we were just eating a meal, so we moved. Then after we ordered, I realised we weren’t given any water at all. At nearly every restaurant I’ve been to, servers either ask if you need water when you order or bring it automatically. However, at this place, not only did they fail to offer water, but the people sitting at the same table (it was a shared table with several people sitting around it) were foreigners, and they had water. Even after repeatedly asking the server for warm water, they still brought us a pot of boiling hot water instead—truly baffling service!
As for the food: The portion sizes were...
Read moreHave heard good reputation from this restaurant for a long time, my friend suggested me that this was the best in London for modern Thai-Bangkok style restaurant.
But when i arrived, i can feel that something is not right.. there is no thai people in the restaurant and even thai staffs. This cannot be possible if the restaurant is really famous, it must have some customers from Thailand eating inside (at least 1 table) but there was no sign of thai people and even thai language in the area even though that restaurant is in Soho the crowded zone with position near the shopping centre. (this criteria can be used to explain how famous the restaurant is at that area. Because if it is really good and famous it must have a capability to attract customers from its home country) Most of staffs are british and they cannot even recognize thai dishes or thai menu. The restaurant did not train staffs well enough to encounter real Thais. And they did not understand a concept of spicy which means it is not authentic no matter how they think they are.
The worst thing is i found a little plastic material in my dish and all they have done was just take the dish back and offer a new dish (and no charge, that...
Read moreOrder was, taken correctly by waiter, and came out completely wrong. After being sent back it took twice as long as the first to come. Friendly staff, calming, vibrant atmosphere. I ordered the Thai green curry with chicken and when it came the chicken was gristly and had bones, the chilli’s were cut very thick and carelessly. Therefore there was very little spice throughout the dish. 2/5. My partner ordered mini pork ribs, they were over-cooked and dry, however the presentation was very appealing. 2/5. We also shared a portion of egg fried rice and it was the star of the show however it wouldn’t fill a plate for even one person. 4/5. Overall the food looks and sounds good but isn’t for me. If you’re thinking about getting a Thai in London do your research and find somewhere outstanding. (For a very similar price). I ordered the bangkok mojito which was enjoyable, however I struggled to see where it was ‘Thai inspired’ if anyone has an answer I’d love to hear it, this would be a 4/5. My partner ordered a simple espresso martini and it had the look as if it had been sitting there for a while. It also had strong coffee flavour and a good all round...
