Lovely food and a great idea - but very poorly executed. Definitely do not recommend the all you can eat option - it works out as very poor value for money despite the lovely menu. You get 90 minutes to order up to 3 dishes each from the menu, you can only order more when you’re done with your previous round and the whole table must order together. This isn’t a problem in principle, but when the interactive table isn’t working properly meaning it takes 15 mins + to put the first order through it starts to get frustrating. It then took another 15-20 minute for the food to start to come out, so we only actually had time to order from the menu twice during our time. The interactive table is poorly calibrated so tricky to use, and as soon as there is food + drink on the table you can no longer see what you’re doing and have the classic issues associated with trying to use a wet or dirty touch screen. Staff were friendly mostly, but forgot to do most of the things we asked for, I used the table function of ‘call a waiter’ 4 times and each time nothing happened and we had to flag someone down the old fashioned way. When our 90 minutes was up they immediately brought the bill, no ask of if we wanted dessert (not on the bottomless menu so not included in our time) or any more drinks. For a bill with service charge included that felt very rude, and it would have been nice to get a dessert for our birthday boy. We took this to mean they wanted rid of us quickly, and we also had a toddler who was unfortunately getting very overtired and frustrated. The second round of food was delivered to our table 80 minutes into our meal, so most of it was still on the table and was difficult to eat with no drink and a frustrated toddler, and feeling like we were taking up space. We asked if we could get a to go box so we could get out of there, we were told No that it’s their policy not to provide boxes for people on the bottomless menu. While I totally understand the logic of the policy, at this stage we had already paid for our food and could not order more so as to abuse the menu and ‘take for later’. We had a very unhappy toddler, felt very bad for surrounding patrons and were also thirsty and uncomfortable. We told the waiter the baby was crying and we didn’t want to bother anyone so could he make an exception to give us a box, he told us no and he doesn’t mind, everyone would just have to deal with it, but he wasn’t allowed to give us a box even though the food would otherwise go to waste. He said we are fine to sit there and eat it - again no offer of ordering more drinks or any hospitality. We actually did mind that our toddler was upset, and ended up having to leave a significant amount of food on the table which bothers me as someone who hates waste. Finally, as a petty aside, I had noted on the booking several times that this meal was for my teenagers birthday - there was no mention at any stage of a happy birthday for him. Not obligatory of course, but would have been nice. All in all, the interactive tables are a lovely idea but very poorly executed. The food really was delicious but unfortunately poor atmosphere and service means we won’t be going back and we really wouldn’t recommend unless they...
Read moreSecond time at inamo but last time was with the old technology 7+ years ago. The place has really gone down hill sadly.
I think there are 3 main areas of disappointment:
Food: Mostly cheap, low quality and in our case varied temperatures of the same dish and bizarre waiting times and delays. First starter came fast, then main after 30m post order (after highlighting we were in a rush for the theatre), then main, then when dessert should arrive other starters. Overpriced for cheap low quality party food. I think likely due to these cheap bottomless options.
Service: Brought the wrong food 3 times and wrong drinks to our table & food arrived after others who ordered after us (significantly so). I saw this happen to 3 other tables, they CONSTANTLY brought the wrong food and drinks out. I think everyone is using this bottomless sushi deal so they had priority at the expense of a la carte customers. Some servers were rude and slammed drinks that spilled and broke the screens functionality too.
They also tried to kick us off our table, no joke with less than 5 minutes after our food finally arrived & served us the wrong bill at the end 🤣
It felt like the entire place was brand new staff who have never worked in a restaurant before.
Bonus: Layout & style. Inamo used to be a beautiful restaurant with a cool novel feature. But the place is dated, keeping the projector shells that are now empty feels lazy and wish such little investment and cost cutting while keeping prices high I am shocked its ratings are still so high.
I would’ve given 1* but the staff did seem genuinely apologetic for the many mistakes which I do appreciate which rescues a star. But I can’t in my right mind give this a 3*, it was the worst experience of hundreds restaurants I’ve done in London at over £50 per head.
I still find the fact it was expensive on top is insane, I’m sure there’s been a big change in management and operations, but very much...
Read moreHad visited today along with a friend as we were gifted vouchers for the Unlimited tapas via a 3rd party website. Upon being seated and looking through the menu, we noticed a lot of items from their online menu were missing, and that most meat options were charged extra. When challenging the waiter on this (as this is not listed on their website at all, even if you book directly through them or mentioned in their T&Cs pre purchase) the voucher menu was different from them main menu. Items such as the Wagyu parcels, bao buns, and ribs were missing.
Upon asking for the manager, the waiter informed us the manager was not on site. Asking for someone more superior, we were informed the same gain. After multiple requests, someone more senior attended and informed us the 3rd party website used mentions the word “set menu”. Neither on the 3rd party website NOR the actual website is the contents of the set menu listed nor mentioned. Blatant attempt at hiding behind T&Cs which are not clear nor clarified at any point. The manager then stated “if you can show me where these items are included, we will offer it to you.” Extremely rude and condescending, considering both websites DO NOT mention any items nor what is offered in the set menu.
In addition, the manager offered to refund the vouchers and offer the normal menu, which we declined as we did not want to spend money at this establishment. At this point we had ordered mostly vegetarian dishes from the menu, all of which tasted sub par and not very pleasant.
After further discussion with the manager, we were able to obtain some ribs and wagyu parcels. When they arrived, both were not great dishes and lacked flavour. The wagyu parcels themselves were incredibly slimy and looked completely unappealing.
The only things we enjoyed food wise were the Asian fries, kimchi fried rice, and the Korokke. Everything else, including service, were poor and extremely insulting.
Highly recommend not eating here. You can find much better food at other Asian establishments across London for a fraction of what their normal menu charges. Will be messaging the business directly and obtaining a full refund for the vouchers. We ended up leaving before our meal was finished and refused to pay for any service fees or tech fees.
TLDR: The vouchers are misleading and offer a set menu which is not mentioned on their website and T&Cs. Food is poor quality and their rebuttal seems accusatory of the customer once challenged on...
