Great vibes here only! They make a great coffee and have such yummy cakes! Let me start of by saying that the staff here seem to be very chill and so no one seems anxious. I had a wonderful lady serve me and she was attentive and sweet. I’ve also come here for lunches before and id highly recommend many of their food items. Tables can feel a little sticky and unclean though. Overall I cannot complain.
Edit: I’ve tried a few more food items from the menu here! So for the cookie, if you’re looking for more of a cake cookie then this would be for you, if not then this won’t be your cup of tea. The image I’ve taken shows the inside of the cookie which is more cake like. This wasn’t for me, so I personally will not be picking this up again.
I’ve also tried the gluten free chocolate cake and my goodness. The has 3 different textures to it which combines wonderfully. All their sliced triangular cakes are not too sweet, and this one was also no exception here. When you have this, it’s more of a denser cake so I would recommend this as their denser type of dessert where you’re looking for a decedent desserts.
If you’re also looking for a delicious and not too sweet treat, try the Oreo cheesecake. One of my favourites!
I’ve tried their boba tea, can’t say that I loved the undercooked boba, but will give it a shot another time as this was during the evening where I picked one up. UPDATE: turns out it was a one off as the next time I came here it was decent! A little pricey.. but still decent; it will fill the craving you have for bubble tea without a doubt.
EDIT (LATEST): New ownership seemed to have taken over and now the quality of the cakes has gone down the drain. Internet also seems to be an issue here. Really not keen on this...
Read moreNestled near the serene Kew Gardens, Café Macarong is a cozy gem that delivers a delightful mix of comfort food with a modern twist. The menu boasts an array of crowd-pleasers, including dupbap (a Korean rice bowl topped with flavorful ingredients), poke rice, and crispy fried chicken, all crafted with care and bursting with flavor. During our visit, we ordered the beef dupbap, salmon poke, and tuna poke, and each dish was a standout. The beef dupbap was hearty and satisfying, with tender beef layered over perfectly cooked rice, elevated by the café’s signature wasabi soybean sauce that added a subtle, savory kick. The salmon and tuna poke bowls were equally impressive, with fresh, vibrant ingredients harmonized by a spicy mayonnaise dressing that brought just the right amount of heat and creaminess. Every bite felt balanced and thoughtfully prepared, showcasing the kitchen’s knack for blending bold flavors with comfort. To top it all off, we sipped on their latte, which was surprisingly excellent—smooth, well-balanced, and the perfect complement to the meal. The inviting ambiance and friendly service only added to the experience, making Café Macarong a must-visit for anyone craving comforting yet elevated dishes near Kew Gardens. I’ll definitely be back to explore more...
Read moreGreat little cafe in Kew serving up pretty decent Korean food, very delicous tea and good desserts. The Korean fried chicken with honey and garlic sauce was nice and crispy but the balance of the honey and garlic was a bit off, the honey was quite aromatic so that's really all you could taste. The KFC with the sweet and spicy Korean sauce would have been a better option as that was delicious. There is a really nice selection of Macarons here with interesting flavours, they have mainly fresh cream based fillings which have been flavoured which was actually quite light to eat but just needs a bit more punch of flavour. The teas served here are fantastic and some of the best we've tried in London.
The staff are overall very pleasant and the service is efficient. The prices are bit higher than what I would have expected to pay for the area and the meal itself compared to other Korean establishments but would happily come again when in...
