One of the most disappointing meals ever. Absolutely not worth the prices they charge for cheap pre-made ingredients. The sushi bowl (ÂŁ20) had rice that was clearly not fresh (clumpy, not shiny or sticky like actual fresh rice) and was served with Kikkoman soy sauce (shocking as this soy sauce is too salty for sushi), with no dipping bowl. This was a huge red flag to me. For ÂŁ20, at least serve fresh rice. The udon (ÂŁ15) was average with a broth that was clearly from a packet, and for that price you might as well go to Koya which specialises in handmade udon The matcha latte was a pale green (see photo) and had no matcha taste whatsoever. Overall, for this price, you can get much better Japanese food at Rokkon or Makoto in Turnham Green or Haseya sushi in Ealing. Would...
Read moreVer cute cafe I stumbled across when I got out of the station last night. I arrived early then expected, friend hasnât arrived and it started raining.
First thing to note is that thereâs no waiter to sit you down, just find a seat yourself and go to the counter to order when youâre ready.
I got the prawn tempura udon, was the best udon I had so far and so soothing to eat on a cold rainy night. Flavour totally suit my taste buds, perfect saltiness and spiciness. Chewy udon, crispy prawn. Comes with a bottle of seven spice as well, would recommend adding some for extra kick. Lunch menu looked very good too, would definitely...
Read moreI was initially drawn to the lunch bento from other people's reviews, so I decided to try the lunch set. It was served on a single plate rather than in traditional bento compartments, which was a bit unexpected. The pork was a bit cold and some pieces were slightly overcooked. Considering the price, I felt it was a little expensive for what I got. That said, the service was friendly and the staff were welcoming. The space has a casual layout and is sometimes used as a live music venue which adds an interesting touch. I didnât try the coffee, but at around ÂŁ4.50, it also seemed slightly on the...
