I agree with another reviewer (Shauqee) and numerous others on similar issues this place has.

The building is beautiful and the interior is nice. The presentation at the windows also looks good but that’s where the good ends.

ANYTHING I needed I had to get up and ask the man cleaning the tables because our server (who’s also the manager) was too busy on the opposite side of the restaurant speaking to his friends who were also dining there. If I was allowed to wait on my family I would have. I say this in the nicest way possible but the server/manager needs to find another profession. The 12.5% gratuity is obligatory and that can explain his lack of attention which was horrible. He knew he was getting gratuity regardless of what he did.

From the beginning you can see the problems brewing when after a while I asked the table cleaner where our server was. I had to go find him and call him to our take our order and his lack of service continued afterwards. We were a party of 7 and WE ALL FINISHED our desserts when AGAIN I walked across the whole restaurant to interrupt his conversation with his friends to ask him where my cousins crepes were. If he wasn’t busy engaging in socializing he would have noticed that after half hour of serving us one dish was still missing. Unacceptable! Not once did our server/manager check on us during our visit except at the beginning when he gave us our table. In fact it was the table cleaner who gave us our bill when I asked him to because his server/manager/boss was still speaking to his friends. I commended him for working hard and thanked him for being our help when his boss was useless. I’m speechless. This is beautiful restaurant that I can only recommend if the management was replaced. It clearly...

Awful service! Waited 30 minutes after we ordered only to be told what we ordered had sold out 20 minutes after we ordered: this was after I brought it to the waiters attention we had not received our food yet. Both waiters and manager had an appalling attitude saying it was a mistake (from other reviews this seems to be a common mistake), then proceeded to insult me after I defended myself from the manager who said I must also make mistakes in my line of work! Very unprofessional. Was incredibly rude to myself when I told them it was not okay that we had been forgotten, and didn’t have any cakes available for my child cousins I took there (one of whom whose birthday it was). Begrudging (and insincere) apology, still paid for what we had (only drinks and one cake that hadn’t sold out but my cousin had ordered the last of), just service charge taken off. Left feeling demeaned, upset, and awful for my child cousins for having to tolerate that service for their birthday treat. Would not recommend, go somewhere that is actually friendly and will treat you like a respected customer.

Edit: In reply to the owner's response how dare you suggest that I subject myself to that belittlement again?! What guarantee can you give me that I will not be insulted, forgotten, or spoken down to again? You did not care about my experience that day, I left the restaurant crying and embarrassed as two male members of staff ganged up on me, proceeded to insult me with the excuse of "She started it" to my...

I would like to complain against one of your colleague at Piccadilly branch. I had a reservation at 1:30pm tomorrow 12/09/24 as I received a voucher for my birthday which is only available to book at Piccadilly branch. I made a reservation via phone on Monday 09/09/24. I just called today to ensure that my dietary requirements were in place but the guy over the phone was really rude and he asked me to call the reservations line, and I explained that I have already got a reservation and I just need to ensure that the dietary requirements were in place. He then asked me to call back after 3pm as his manager wasn’t in and he was quite busy which I totally understand as I myself have been a part of hospitality industry but he didn’t even listen to what I had to say. I did advise him that instead of just asking a customer to call reservation atleast listen to what they are saying. And I wanted to know his name, whereas he decided to hang up the phone quite abruptly.

I did try to call again but no one answered so I am quite disappointed by the way this has been handled and I have now cancelled my booking and obviously would refrain to make any further booking with any of your branches. Can you please advise what’s the process to get a refund as I extended my voucher too. I would really refrain from going to any of branches now if this is how the customers are being provided services. This was going to be my very first experience at Cafe concerto and I’m really disappointed...

As a local, I knew this place is a tourist trap but we were looking for a place to settle after 8, while everywhere else was closed around this area, we decided to go here as it opens by 11pm. Well, apart from the long opening time, I have to say everything is below standard. We ordered lattes and vegan pistachio cake, my latte was the strangest taste I’ve ever tasted and was £5.99 (the cheapest choice btw) and the cake we’ve got was absolutely dry probably because it was displayed without a cover for a whole day. And it didn’t taste special. What gutted me was the service of the place. One of the waiters completely ignored me as if I don’t exist and only talked to my male friend. Also, when I was paying a bill, he was not focused and didn’t realise that my payment was authorised and asked me to pay again. I insisted to check and he found out that it was paid, but he didn’t even apologise. Just imagine such a touristic area and the cafe is to attract tourists, and they do this to them - would’ve been ended up paying double the price. Overall, I cannot give more than two as I at least appreciate their effort that they open late. But nothing else really is worth the money. Rough service, blunt and overpriced food.

Food is alright but cold. Clotted cream is overwhipped - it's part butter. Also, service and cleanliness leaves a lot to be wanting. The service staff's standard reply is "no" when you request for something. For example, I don't take raisins and ask for plain scones instead of one each in the afternoon tea set. But was initially told it's not possible. I overheard a family sitting by the door requesting to change tables as it was too cold and they were told no tables available when there's plenty available. The most disgusting things I witnessed were a female staff putting cutlery that dropped on the floor in the dining area back into the clean cutlery drawer and another male staff scratching his ankle and using the same hand to set the table for a new customer. 😰 There's a discretionary service charge that I am not inclined to pay due to the above noted. Come on, the service at cafe opposite Harrods was not amazing but at least, it's not this low. Edit: I gave the discretionary charge in the end cause I need to give credit to the manager. He's very busy and yet kept checking if his staff is alright. Although service was not amazing, this is the kind of leader I would like to work for.
