A Hidden Gem in Lee – A Truly Memorable Birthday Experience
We recently visited Luciano’s Italian Restaurant in Lee for the first time to celebrate a birthday, and I can not recommend it highly enough. We were in search of a restaurant that combined authenticity, warmth, cleanliness, and convenience – and Luciano’s delivered on every front.
From the moment we stepped through the door, despite how busy the restaurant was, we were warmly greeted by a lovely waitress (whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch – but I will next time!). Although the restaurant was fully booked, she went out of her way to accommodate us after learning it was a birthday celebration. Within minutes, she found us a table and, shortly after, kindly moved us to a window seat upon request.
Both the waitress and the waiter who served us were incredibly attentive and genuinely friendly throughout our visit. The food was outstanding – clearly homemade and full of flavour. We ordered a pasta dish along with two sides, and everything was absolutely delicious. Our drinks arrived promptly, and the homemade deserts were exceptional.
A particularly lovely touch was when the great waiting staff and the restaurant manager came over to sing “Happy Birthday,” presenting the tiramisu as a birthday treat – such a sweet and thoughtful gesture.
The atmosphere at Luciano’s is relaxed, warm, and welcoming. We were not rushed at any point, which allowed us to enjoy our meal and conversation at a leisurely pace. The manager also took the time to speak with us personally, which added a wonderful touch of hospitality that made us feel truly valued.
Luciano’s is a genuine Italian gem nestled in the heart of Lee, and we’re already looking forward to returning. We’ll certainly be booking a table for our next family...
Read moreCame in February 6 of us , faultless food & service . This time .. Starters were pretty good, pizza beautiful. main dishes were missing items , the fillet steaks cooked well but were very nice apart from the lump of fat on the side of mine , potatoes weren’t Rosti they were rosemary which had clearly been sitting around small amount of sauce & no asparagus or garnish of any sort, fish was lovely but missing the courgette & salsa verde asked the waitress apparently they have changed how they serve it also they we’re having trouble in the kitchen, just salad , then had the dessert menu for 25 mins one of the waitresses was more interested in her phone and hiding up by the service hatch . Got a couple of free to desserts one to go as too annoyed with everything. Poor service is unacceptable on a Saturday night and it wasn’t even full , combined with half an attempt at an excuse about the menu, don’t lye just say you will look into . The broccoli chunks don’t have to be so big & spicy . They took the service charge off with out asking which they knew we weren’t happy , the waitress was being as nice as she could be , the possible owners / older staff , one who left just as we ordered need to keep an eye on things . I would go back as the previous experience was great but will wait for the reviews...
Read moreUsually it's such a good restaurant, however the night we went their especially as a family to treat ourselves, every bad thing that could happen, happened. 45 minute wait for starters (garlic bread and calamari -the end bits that usually get tossed) despite others who came in after us, getting served first with bigger portions of the same thing. Another 40 minute wait after that, we eventually got given our pasta dishes (3 different types) after we said we'd leave. Had to coat the thing in salt and pepper just to get any flavour at all. 2 were utterly bland and the 3rd tasted like old shepherds pie that had been microwaved within an inch of its life! Suffice to say we had a fair bit to say to the manager at the time. She claimed that it was a new chef. Even if that is the case, you're meant to audition these people first. This isn't even me being snobby; our Nonna is Italian. We have great Italian food every week and know what it's supposed to taste like. This was supposed to be a treat for our dad! Usually Lucianos is good but this night they did everything WRONG. I hope they have fired whatever chef they had working because they are a disgrace to cooking. We ended up having to go out and get McDonalds at 11pm because we...
