So.... Been looking high and low for a year for a good kebab near me and finally bit the bullet and came here. Main reason I've avoided up till now is down to two factors. I've never been keen on places that mix the types of food they serve and the second, the reviews left here by other people. Anyway, I bought their special kebab which comes with one of each shish and doner meat. If you're gonna try something, do it right. Loving it! I'm having to take a break due to the large portion. The chicken, kofte and lamb shish were all cooked properly and the doner meat was surprisingly dry. What I mean by that is there was virtually no dripping fat and the container didn't have that large cesspool of water and fat you usually get. Added bonus, you also get proper chippy chips instead of the frozen straight out of the bag fries. If I had to give a negative, it would be that the chilli sauce wasn't at all hot (for my taste, anyway). And unlike other reviews, the service given was spot on too. Looking forward to my...
Read moreDon’t usually leave reviews but this place was so good I decided to do one as soon as I’d finished eating! I’ve lived nearby for 5 years but never tried Manor Fish Bar until now. Although this was my 1st visit it certainly won’t be my last. I had a mixture of saveloys and the grilled Cumberland sausage with chips and they were absolutely lovely. Too many chip shops sell saveloys that are limp and mushy in texture, but the ones from Manor Fish bar were just how I liked them. Very firm with almost a crunch from each bite. Usually I have to go to Whitstable to get a good saveloy so I am over the moon I can get them locally. The Cumberland tasted lovely with the chips. Everything was piping hot and the young female server with glasses with lovely and friendly and very polite. This will now be my go to chippie so thank you Manor Fish Bar and I will definitely be seeing...
Read moreI was out cycling and fancied some chips, I left my bike outside and opened the door of the Bar and asked for "Medium Chips" to be eaten outside. When they were ready, they called me to collect them inside and I realised they had cooked cod and chips. We misunderstood each other with the owner, and I am not a native speaker, so there is a good chance that I had my share of responsibility in not asking clearly what I wanted. The owner and the lady behind the bar were extremely kind and only charged me for the "medium chips" and I paid £2 for the chips and £0.90 for the can of Coke. The chips were extremely tasty and while I was eating I was still feeling sorry for what happened. It was only while I was finishing to eat, that is also occurred to me that this was a very generous portion indeed!!! Excellent service, good food, nice tables to eat outside. Highly...
