The Cask & Glass was my first experience at a real English pub in London. We were walking to do tourist things and this place was filled with people enjoying a pint and spilling into the street after a day at the office.. That was my cue. Such a fun and typically downtown London experience. Not easy to get a pint with so many people here .. but such a great time.

I really do quite like this unassuming, almost 'hole in a wall' establishment. In this saturated era of bewildering variations on fruity, citrusy, crafty, frisky, IPA'y...blah-blah beers, it's just nice to be able to get a few calmer, deeper old school flavours. In fact, much more relevant to our northerly latitudes, especially with winter just around the corner.

The most unwelcoming pub ever, easily the rudest staff in London, possibly the world. Disgraceful. Customer service is nonexistent. They made our whole tour group feel like we had done something wrong by walking through their door. Their are Plenty of other pubs in a 5 minute walking distance of this dump that treat their customers a million times better.

Unfortunately what would have been a lovely evening with friends became a lesson from the staff in how not to have an enjoyable time. My friend an d colleague was lectured on laughing too loud... the service is akin to serving gruel in a workhouse and you feel undeserved of exchanging yout hard felt £5:50 for a pint of mediocre beer. Tha bar-staff are rude the is a. Ever present aroma of urine from the lavatories and the Landlady gives you the impression you are nuisance rather than a paying customer. For an establishment that could capisltalise on its quaint charm, the unwelcoming staff are oblivious to their customers needs. I live in hope we ca get beyond the plastic glass obsession and adherence to the margins of joviality marked by on the pavement outside. After all there are many public and accross the uk dealing with drugs an violence accross the UK...

Lovely little pub let down by lazy staff. Ordered 3 drinks, two of which were spirits. The barman said he didn't have much ice left. I asked could he get more and he replied that he would have to go downstairs for it. I presume that's where the ice machine was located. It was about 40 minutes to closing time admittedly but it wasn't busy, there was two other customers in there. This is a gorgeous little bar with a good selection of beers. Very clean, about 5 minutes walk from Buckingham Palace. They closed at 8pm on Saturday night and am not sure if this is the same other nights. Probably best to ring. Definitely...

Small little pub that serves a few Ales and food at lunchtime. Cosy and small inside with a few outside tables, great for summer lunchtime drinks. Ale selection OK overall, nothing too exotic but haveway enjoyed some of the guest Ales. Not had the food to comment on. The barman or publican can come across dour and a bit unfriendly. Not much in the way of banter, even if you have come back a few times. Serves you promptly enough and clears the tables so does his job well enough, just never feel that welcome. Still, quiet relaxing pub, so maybe...
