It's rather sad to see what the store has become. I've been a regular from the beginning and in the past year or two, shortly after the Camden branch closed, the store had been bought up by another company from the original owners.
Since then, the syrups have been different than what was originally used and often times you may end up with a drink that leans on the side of being too sweet. I often find that my drink comes out fairly lukewarm once it's made and handed to me. A drink that was once refreshing is now just overly sweet and with a saturated flavour as a consequence of it leaning on the warm side.
To add to this, the prices have increased several times in the past year alone (and even more before then!). It increased around late summer-mid autumn last year and again at the end of spring this year. A large drink now sets you back at ÂŁ4.80, which is rather pricey compared to other places in London. I understand the struggle with business due to covid, things are tough, but it leaves a bad taste on customers to make several price hikes in such a short space of time and to such a degree.
A large drink, by the way, has now been misleadingly labelled as 'regular' when it does not correspond to regular bubble tea sizes in most stores (those would be labelled as 'small' at chaboba now). This, therefore, becomes a common mistake when ordering a drink when you already have an idea what you're getting before heading in store.
It feels bad leaving a negative review when this place has been my go-to for years, but ever since it was apparently bought up chaboba has just been gradually declining in quality. It's really...
Read moreThe other reviews are true about the service being non-existent. The other review was from someone, a month ago and the owner commented saying they will make sure it wonât happen again. I went in at lunch time today and no one was there but you could hear the workers at the back having a conversation. I stood there for a few minutes waiting for someone to come to the front to take my order. I had to make a noise and walk around to get their attention to let them know I was there. Whatâs the point of even opening up if you just want to hide in the back? Is the owner going to comment that they will make sure it wonât happen again? Good Luck with thatđ This is how you lose customers. First impression is the only one that counts. I have no intention of returning, no matter how much you beg to give you another chance.
I ordered a fruit tea with jelly as a topping. For what it is the price is extortionateâŚ. ÂŁ5.10 for a Small size fruit tea which is basically just syrup, too much water and tea. Could not taste the fruit flavour at all! The jelly is hard and tastes of absolutely nothing, despite listing various flavours like strawberry and passion fruit.
Conclusion: Avoid! Far better bubble tea places around in Wembley Park. You have...
Read moreit seems like almost everywhere iâve been going recently, bad customer service has been following me. I walk in, theres a lady stood by the doorway of the boba bar and the staff room. she does not pay any attention to the front door so i have to say excuse me to catch her attention, she then tells the other worker to come out to serve me and she does. i ask for a thai milk tea and mishears me for a taro, i see the purple drink being shaken and i ask âis that taroâ she said âyes you asked for taro?â and then i reply âi asked for thaiâ. she gave me a look and started arguing with me by saying âyou didnt say thai you said taroâ. i said âi didnt say taro i asked for thaiâ, she then even has the audacity to still go back and fourth with me by saying âno you said taroâ. Even if it was my mistake by being a quiet talker, she shouldnât have argued back with me. If a mistake is made it can be solved easily and with respect. I must also say the price is ridiculous for milk tea made...
