I had just ordered chaiwala (ilford) on Uber eats and around 10+ minutes into my order I got a call from a lady from chaiwala. She said something along the lines of it’s late and there’s no staff or there’s no food, can’t exactly remember because it was late and I was already tired as it is. I said okay that’s fine, then she proceeds to tell me to call Uber and cancel the order from my side because she can’t on her side, I say okay and cut the line, Uber is pretty hard to contact so I was confused because there wasn’t a cancel option.
I called back and the lady relatively was saying. Call Uber.. I was getting frustrated because of the fact that I haven’t got my food, it’s late I’m tired, and I can’t figure out how to cancel it, then after out of no where she says “why are u ordering so late” in a rude/raised tone implying it’s my fault. That ticked me off so I started to raise my voice saying whys the shop open then if they’re not gonna deliver food and if they’re gonna make it seem like it’s the customers fault for ordering late. (I only ordered because it’s the fastest thing to get delivered to my house) she then proceeds to lower her tone because of what I was saying again implying I’m the mad one.
All I wanted was for her to cancel the order because I didn’t know how and it’s a long process even tho I didn’t want the food to get cancelled the shop did. So I told her it’s not my job it’s her job. I left it at that then the biggest smack in the face was when I asked if I could have the manager on the phone so they can help not even to talk about that lady’s behaviour. The lady on the phone then says “I’m the manager” what kind of manager raises their voice at the customers and says “why are u ordering so late then”.
I actually used to really like chaiiwala, I had amazing experiences and the foods nice but the attitude of that lady needs to get sorted. I won’t be going to that branch again. And this is my first ever review, I never do it no matter how much a shop/person ticks me off but todays one just did something to me.

Read morein my experience the customer services level at Ilford lane branch have significantly dropped recently. on my last visit the staff taking order was not polite at all. I palced a take-away order for two sugar free kadak chai and one pink tea and was told it will take 10 mins. I was happy to obliged but after waiting for 15 mins and watching at least 6-7 customer being served and left I politely apporached and enquired about my order. She first questioned very abruptly "what was my order"? after I handed over my receipt to her she turned around and disappeared for next 5 mins. on her return she started serving new customers while completley ignoring me standing there. after waiting for another 10 mins I asked if she could tell me what I was waiting for and she said very rudely that for sugar free tea. by this time I already had waited for over 30 mins for 3 cups of tea. I asked for my refund and she started yelling at her co worker for not letting her know that a customer was waiting for sugar free - all of the sudden she became all applogetic and said my order is ready now. but i was so crossed by this point and My 3 years old son was so upset that I refused to wait any longer and demanded my money and left with out the tea.
I would totally avoid visiting this branch again.

Disgraceful staff till female refused to give Nhs discount. Sad customer never ever spend my money staff turnover so bad Previously always buy breakfast, lunch, bring friends. My boss ordered her meal. Staff meals. No more chai wala. You can't decline nhs discount, one day offered next day staff change. Regular customer.
