Do not be fooled by the small, humble hole in the wall exterior of this dessert shop, it is phenomenal.
We tried the khoya kulfi and the khoya rose faluda and both were amazing, like nothing I've tried before. The handmade khoya is rich, think and creamy and not oversweet! It has clearly been made with love and skill. The texture of the kulfi is slightly spongy and very soft (do not expect the hard bite of ready made kulfi sticks), yet it does not melt off in drops or fall suddenly. If you want to, you are welcome to roll the stick in a bed of almond pieces (do it!). The faluda I will dream off. Thukmariya, seevya, strong sweet pink rose milk over ice cubes and then and a generous dollup of thick khoya. The friendly uncle behind the counter recommend to stir it well before drinking, and it was heavenly. He was great to talk to, explaining the patience that goes into making the khoya and you could hear the passion he has for this in his voice.
I will make an effort to come back to try everything on the menu but was glad to start with these classics. (Will have to come back on the weekend to try the street food as well). This is not Indian faluda or kulfi like I am used to, it is from Lahore and...
