A Must-Visit Spot for Korean Comfort Food: CHEEMC Korean Fried Chicken & Beer

Looking for a flavour-packed, crispy, and soul-warming Korean dining experience? CHEEMC Korean Fried Chicken & Beer is a hidden gem that delivers on all fronts. From insanely crispy fried chicken to spicy, umami-rich stews, this spot is perfect for foodies who crave authentic Korean comfort food with a modern twist.

Drinks: • Aloe Vera Punch – A refreshing and soothing drink, packed with aloe bits that add a fun texture. A great palate cleanser between bites!

Starters: • Octopus Dough Balls (Takoyaki-style) – These crispy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside dough balls are packed with tender octopus pieces, topped with bonito flakes that dance from the heat. The rich umami flavour makes them irresistible. • Chicken Fried Dumplings – Lightly golden brown with a satisfying crunch, these dumplings have a juicy, flavourful filling inside. Paired with a tangy dipping sauce, they’re the perfect way to start the meal.

Mains: • Honey Butter Fried Chicken – Hands down, one of the best Korean fried chicken dishes in town! The batter is ultra-crispy, and the honey butter glaze gives it the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and savoury. Every bite is crunchy, sticky, and addictive—exactly what you’d expect from high-quality Korean fried chicken. • Budae Jjigae (Korean Army Stew) – If you love spicy, hearty stews, this dish will blow your mind. A bubbling hot kimchi-based broth filled with: • Spam & Sausage (classic army stew flavours) • Tofu, Bean Sprouts, and White Mushrooms (perfect for soaking up the broth) • Noodles and Rice (because one carb isn’t enough!) Every spoonful warms your soul, making it the perfect comfort food on a chilly day.

CHEEMC isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a flavour experience. Whether you’re here for crispy fried chicken, spicy stews, or indulgent starters, every dish is made with love and authenticity. If you’re a Korean food lover (or even if you’re new to it), this is a spot you can’t miss.

I had an amazing experience at Cheemc Korean Restaurant in Elephant and Castle! The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavour, and so satisfying.

From the entrance, the customer service was excellent.I didn’t have a reservation, but I was seated immediately. The waitress was very helpful, friendly, and smiling the whole time she even recommended some popular dishes, which I really appreciated!

For starters,I had the Octopus Balls,Chicken Fried Dumplings, and Honey Butter Fried Chicken. The octopus balls were delicious and full of flavour, the dumplings were crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside just perfect! The fried chicken was out of this world probably the best Korean fried chicken I’ve ever had!Perfectly crispy, flavourful, and addictive.

For the main,I had Budae Jjigae. It was packed with flavour and served in a small boiling pot with rice. The mix of bean sprouts, white mushrooms, tofu, spicy broth, sausage, and spam made it incredibly tasty and comforting.

To drink,I had the Aloe Vera Punch super refreshing with delicious aloe bits!

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic and tasty Korean food in London. The service, food, and atmosphere were all amazing. This is now my new favourite Korean restaurant, and I’ll definitely be...

Here’s a review:

I had an amazing experience at CheeMC in Elephant and Castle! The spicy Korean fried chicken (boneless) was absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfectly spiced to pack a punch without being overwhelming. Each bite was full of flavor, and the boneless option made it so easy to enjoy.

The pairing with their green grape soda was genius. The drink was refreshing, sweet, and had just the right amount of fizz to balance out the heat of the chicken. It felt like a perfect combo and elevated the whole meal.

A special shoutout to our server, Soyi-Jin, who was fantastic! She was attentive, friendly, and made excellent recommendations, ensuring our experience was top-notch. Her warm demeanor added a personal touch to the evening.

If you’re in the area and craving some incredible Korean fried chicken, CheeMC is a must-visit spot. Highly...

I was quite disappointed to be honest. The service was great but the food was bland. I had mad garlic wings, they were garlicky and crispy but no other spice/herb was used, not even salt. Salt and garlic are a staple together. I asked for salt and ironically it came with powdered garlic in it..... For main I had Beef Bulgogi and there was 0 sauce. It literally tasted like beef cooked in oil with vegetables. No glaze to suggest it has been cooked with anything else. I had thought there would be gauchujang or soy but couldn't taste anything except meat and vegetables. I've left half the food in the plate, asked for the bill, at no point has anyone asked if the food was ok. Probably the worst Bulgogi I've had which is a shame cause a friend recommended this place.
