Extremely disappointed with the lack of anything. I've been to the branch in Euston multiple times and have always had a great experience and was very excited to see there was one opened closer to home.
I understand that tonight was the official opening night and that the staff were very new and that there would be teething problems, however, the service was nonexistent especially considering we arrived when the restaurant was pretty empty. We ordered starters mains and drinks and only received the starters and drinks. Starters were just okay. My skewers were cold (I thought they were supposed to be warm) and my partner's murger was lukewarm. Flavours were nice.
Drinks which were a can of plum juice and a mango mocktail came after we had been sat there almost an hour. No staff came to check on us at all and we struggled to get staff to pay attention to us. We watched loads of other customers who came in a fair bit after us get served and received all their food when we'd only received our starters and were still waiting on our drinks.
After being there for almost an hour and a half we asked for the bill and still didn't get that after waiting a further 10 mins and still no staff checking on us so we decided to leave since we still weren't recieving any service whatsoever.
After we left, that was the only time the manager paid us any attention and decided to chase after us to settle our bill with an insincere apology and no offer to make things right. I'm really sorry but it's such poor taste to run halfway down the road to chase us for 2 juices and cold starters as if we were dine and dashers. You as a manager saw that our table had received no service the entire time we were there. You served us our starters and were sat at a table next to us as you conducted an interview (albeit separated by a glass wall but we were entirely visible). We tried to pay and were still ignored (the waitress we asked ended up just standing near the front for 10 minutes not doing anything) and were not going to wait another hour when we've received nonexistent service. The fact that the manager's first words were that we needed to settle the bill and not an apology was appalling. We refused to pay on principle especially as he did not even offer to make things right (or even offer us the food we'd been waiting 1.5 hours for!). The time for him to have done that should have been before we left.
Your staff is new yes, but the restaurant was empty and you as a manager are supposed to help smooth out where your staff may fail and ensure that your customers were still taken care of. Bad management and undertrained staff have really spoilt my impressions of this branch. I would recommend maybe spending longer on training your staff before opening and maybe work on having better customer service...
Read moreMurger Han Han's been one of our favourite restaurants since the first branch opened. As we are locals to South London we were anticipating the opening of the elephant and castle branch and we were hoping it will be exactly the same quality as the one in central.
What we initially thought to be a drop of quality in comparison to the other branches turned out to be a drop of quality to the brand in general. Still love the flavours and all but the biang biang noodles - sauce ratio is appalling. There's barely any topping or sauce on the noodles, which I am not sure if it is the traditional way or not, but is fairly disappointing, especially with the vegetarian options, as a main for almost £15.
You can balance out the dish if it's not enough by ordering some more noodles on the side but then again there's only so much noodles you can eat without falling asleep of gluten overdose and what you really need ultimately is more sauce and more flavour. Usually soy sauce, chilli oil and vinegar are provided so I can concoct a more fulfilling dish for myself.
I bring many of my friends here time to time to demonstrate how cool biang biang noodles are but frankly speaking I stopped coming as I feel like I don't get the value for my money at all.
I hope you will buff up the recipe a bit and add in an extra two three spoons of toppings just so I don't feel like I'm eating noodles with chilli oil only. Adding some dishes with fish to the menu would also be a nice idea.
Otherwise it's nice atmosphere and...
Read moreVisited for the 1st time on Friday sadly I don't think we'll be back. Vegetarian sides: gyoza, salad and tofu skewers. The gyoza were fine but arrived sometime after we'd had our mains. The tofu skin skewers were in a tasty sauce. The salad was made up of spinach in a similar sesame sauce, lotus root and edamame which sadly tasted like they'd just been defrosted (ice cold & dripping water all over the plate). I couldn't find a menu for this branch online but had seen other branches menus and thought there would be plenty of vegetarian options... but it wasn't as simple as I'd hoped. With rice noodles (avoiding wheat) I was offered a cold dish or a hot pot with a vegetarian tomato broth - ok. I ordered spicy and this wasn't. The broth reminded me of tinned tomato soup. Not very appealing sorry. My companion's noodle dish arrived in a huge bowl )over 1ft across) that left little room on our table for the sides or our drinks. Would have been a great sharing bowl but not for one person. Service was patchy - perfectly nice but not able to answer some of our questions and a bit confused. Our bill was lower than normal as there was a special offer on 11/11... 2mains , 1 beer, 2 tea and 3 sides would have been about £75. I can see potential but suspect the other branches currently offer a better...
