Went there for dinner with my GF after a day out at portobello market and westfield. Service was immaculate and the food came out so quick we ordered like 7 dishes.
Waiter was professional and our table was cleared literally as soon as we finished our food. It's very much a tapas style atmosphere which along with drinking through out the night is great.
The vibe of this place is really entering, friendly & warm. The host greeted us with a lovely smile and recommended the best table in her opinion as we had quite big bags of shopping and needed space. The music here goes well with the aesthetics and just overall very kool vibe to chill, it definitely gives LA.
The cocktail of choice for the night was the Lychee martini which I thought was delicious and very much so packed a punch which makes it even more dangerous. I do usually drink beer or whiskey but this just stood out to me and I did not regret it.
Now the food, see for me as a Chef I really loved the punchy vibrant flavors along with the fish sauce in dressings however my gf who has not had Thai cuisine or much east asian food liked most of things. We had ordered the papaya salad, chicken thigh, prawn satay, prawn toast, waterfall lamb and after a lil break the coconut fish curry with jasmine rice.
The food is just vibrant and amazing flavours, papaya salad was banging however my gf did not enjoy due to the intense flavours and I think she just does not like fish sauce.
The chicken thigh was cooked to absolute perfection like damn it was just the most perfect cooked chicken thigh I've had it really melted in my mouth.
Prawn satay was a little bit meady I thought there would be a bit more on it but it was cooked to perfection also however that satay peanut sauce I could drink it. Really amazing sauce.
The prawn toast for me was the best thing. It's a toasted bao bun with a prawn filling in the middle coated with toasted black and white sesame seed and accompanied by another amazing sauce again which I could drink glasses full.
Waterfall lamb was very very vibrant flavours and again delicious but I would've liked a lot more lamb. My gf did like it to a degree but I think the punchy aromatic flavours maybe was overwhelming for her as she is not used to thai cuisine.
After all this delicious food we took a bit of a break and then ordered the coconut fish curry which tbh was a little bit underwhelming I thought the sauce was not as flavourful as other thai currys I have made and also had, the fish was oversteamed in the rational and did not have much texture, more mushy then flaky unfortunately.
All in all I still give it a 5 stars cos food was still amazing and so was service and the vibe is great. So defo will be...
Read moreThis place has now become one of my favourite brunch spots in London!
I randomly discovered this place on Instagram one day just scrolling through my feed and saw a foodie influencer promoting it. I thought the food looked pretty decent and I like the Thai/ American fusion concept so I thought I would give it a go. I came here with a friend for brunch on the last day of this heatwave week in London so was extremely happy to be walking into the reception area feeling the full on air conditioning.
We ordered the chicken n roti waffles and pineapple fried rice to share, as well as one iced Americano and iced latte. The fried rice portion was absolutely massive! Amazing value for money and not to mention how well fried the rice was, not oily and not mushy at all. The pineapple made it really refreshing to eat and I couldn't help but to keep munching. The fried chicken was well-cooked in a thin batter and lots of juicy meat, with the roti waffles they went so so well with the tom yum sauce. It's such a creative dish that both my friend and I enjoyed so much we just couldn't stop eating! The coffees were really good too, my Americano was strong and smooth and I really liked it.
This place has legit food and drinks and I can't recommend more! It's such good value too as we each paid £20.50 so for London prices this was very affordable and decent.
Service was great, attentive staff who were all very approachable and smiley. And not to mention the vibes it's kind of vintage 80s American diner atmosphere and I love the colour palette for the interior design.
Because it's so new and relatively unknown it was quiet and empty while we were there and so we spent 3 hours without being rushed at all. I would absolutely love going back more often before it receives its well-deserved social media fame...
Read moreNice venue, good bar (although the house signature cocktail that we wanted to order was disappointingly "not available"), but the dining experience was poor. Our waitress wouldn't let us get a word in until she'd issued various "warnings": most dishes are spicy, there is a "sharing concept" meaning food would all arrive whenever ready (I hate this, just an excuse for the kitchen not having its act together and I don't want to feel like I'm at Wagamama when I'm paying this much), the house white wine is "natural" meaning it would be cloudy and have sediment in it... maybe as management are clearly aware of these potential problems they just need to fix them so that customers don't need multiple warnings to navigate a meal out?
On to the food. Having travelled extensively in Thailand and the US, I love both cuisines (and I can handle heat/spice!) but combining them as a "fusion" concept was a terrible idea. Nobody wants French fries with Thai curry sauce and sour cream! The menu is all over the place; it was hard to know what to order and it felt difficult to assemble a coherent, satisfying dinner. The bill climbed as sides had to be ordered in addition to curries. Some main courses are almost £50 which is a lot by Mayfair standards let alone Shepherds Bush. Even vegan/vegetarian dishes are overpriced - £15 for pineapple rice without a sliver of protein! Food was fine but in this part of town you can get an amazing authentic Thai meal for far less than we paid.
Service was OK but nothing special; at this price point I'd expect better. I would go back for drinks at the bar, but not for food until the current menu/concept is revised - which I suspect they'll have to do sooner...
