Chiave — Restaurant in London

I recently visited this cocktail bar and, unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The cocktails were not particularly enjoyable—they leaned heavily on a savory profile with an overpowering lemon juice taste that left my stomach feeling unpleasant shortly after.

The atmosphere had its ups and downs. While there was a DJ playing music, the overall vibe downstairs was disappointing. The staircase leading down is extremely narrow and lacks any warning signs, which makes it feel unsafe, especially after a few drinks. Navigating it was worrisome, and I wouldn’t recommend heading down.

Upstairs was a better experience, offering a calm and pleasant vibe. However, the drinks were quite expensive, which added to the overall dissatisfaction. That said, the staff were friendly and attentive, which was a positive aspect of the visit.

I’ve left a 5 star review for food, but this is a cocktail bar. There is no option for me to leave a review for drinks.

You could easily pass Chiave by. Don’t. It’s a new bar and the outside is deceptively modest. But it’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Chiave is that rare thing. It manages to advance craft cocktails in a way that I haven’t seen since places like Milk & Honey started to define what that meant.

We rocked up at about 10.30 expecting to have a nightcap and we stayed for the drinks. They all smashed it.

Bilal (?) is the bar manager and the menu he has created is outstanding. He’s shortlisted for the top 100 mixologists in Diageo’s World Class competition. He deserves to go all the way.

Small but perfectly formed.

Oh… and the basement is a massive sound room with DJs on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

We’ll go back....

Best cocktail bar in London, so cozy, classy, unique cocktails and very fine drinks, definitely you will discover your new favourite cocktail here no matter how picky you are with the alcohol you drink.You will fall in love with their cocktails which you can’t get anywhere else from.

Mixologists guys at the bar are really passionate and into it, in my opinion their menu can satisfy all tastes.Not to mention the class music you can listen while you drink.Also amazing people coming to this place
